24.01.2022 Alice Lindstrom, Lyrebird Vase with Native Flowers . I chose to depict a Superb Lyrebird because due to the recent fires the bird has gone from being a common species to being a threatened species. Three varieties of the lyrebird have lost between a third and more than half of their natural habitat. I wanted to depict the bird amongst native flora and celebrate the beauty of Australian natives while drawing attention to the lyrebird. 23.01.2022 ‘This is by no means the most beautiful place I’ve been in Australia; but the Yarra trail feels remote, yet I can visit it every day without leaving the city. On a secluded path by the river I can see Tawny frogmouths posing like statues, ringtail possums sleeping in low branches; and take plenty of Eucalyptus into my lungs.’ Alice Oehr We asked Alice Oehr about one of her favourite places in Australia. ... #aliceoehr #artforwildlife #artforwildlifeprints #afwmarch See more

20.01.2022 Last day for orders for February! We print once a month so that we use only the materials we need and to manage the work load we place on our brilliantly printers @hound_and_bone. One packing day a month is also doable for the volunteers that are supporting this project. Were trying to create a sustainable fundraising model that will provide ongoing financial support to @seed_mob and @bushheritage across the year.

18.01.2022 This is John Forrest National Park in the Darling Scarp east of Perth. We go here often when Im in Perth for walks and picnics, and it feels like being in the outback without having to travel too far. Theres an abandoned railway that runs through the Park, as well as falls and walking trails and a Jarrah forest and plenty of Kangaroos. Its wild and beautiful. -Felicita Sala We asked Felicita Sala about one of her favourite places in Australia. ... #felicitasala #artforwildlife #artforwildlifeprints #afwmarch See more

17.01.2022 Alice Oehr, Sturts Desert Peas . Although I live far from the area in which the Sturt Desert pea grows wild and native; these impossibly bright flowers have literally stopped me in my tracks during their short period in bloom on a hillside in the arid garden at Melbournes botanical gardens. Culminating in a pack, the peas stand straight upright; commanding you to look at them right in their piercing black eyes. They are a wonderful example of our somewhat bizarre and to...tally unique flora. Alice Oehr . #aliceoehr #afwmarch #artforwildlife #artforwildlifeprints See more

12.01.2022 Matt Chun, Corella . Corellas are my favourite local bird, frequently filling the trees outside the window of my studio on Yuin country in curious, industrious flocks. I didnt feature a Corella in my 2018 childrens picture book, Australian Birds, so I took the opportunity to make this little tribute exclusively for Art for wildlife. As the unprecedented fires were closing in, and my town was caught under a blood-red darkness, corellas were amongst the many birds that ...had simply fell dead out of the ashen sky. I eventually evacuated flanked by fire and thick, suffocating smoke. Over the following months, the full impact of this anthropogenic disaster on our forests and wildlife has become ever more painfully apparent.
