15.01.2022 Janette Rigby-Sammut is the Feature Artist for the month of August 2020 at Art Gallery Kurnell, 6 Prince Charles Parade, Kurnell. Open 10am-3pm weekends only, or by appointment by calling 0402 400 107 office hours. Janette has been painting in all mediums for most of her life and enjoys teaching people of all ages including those with disabilities.... Her students have received many awards for their artworks over the years, including one from the Governor General for artists with minor disabilities. She exhibits her work, runs workshops, seminars , demonstrates and lectures on the arts for fund raisers and on request for art societies throughout Australia. Come along to the gallery and enjoy the variety of her styles along with the art of other artists who also present their works for sale. The gallery is located on the beautiful waterfront of Botany Bay, so maybe take a rug and a picnic lunch perfect.

03.01.2022 SEPTEMBER EXHIBITION The Green family moved from the Clarence Valley, Grafton to Sydney’s Sutherland Shire and are now members of the Southern Cross Art Group. The Green Family Art Exhibition at the Kurnell gallery will include a range of art from North Coast NSW seascapes to bird and animals and some local scenes from the Cronulla Sutherland area. Art works range from watercolours, pastels, charcoal and some oil-paintings:... Richard enjoys painting in oils and learnt much from his mother, Sydney Artist Susanne Green. His interest is in depicting art that displays the geological landscape of bushland areas, rural farmland to rivers and the coast. Astrid is a watercolour artist who enjoys painting birds of Australia. She grew up in a village in Germany known across Europe for their traditional artists and migrated to Australia many years ago, when she met her husband Richard. Richard and Astrid’s daughters Julia and Annabel grew up in the Clarence Valley and have become locally well known for exhibiting award winning art in the Jacaranda Art Exhibition, Bentley Art, Go Art (Grafton Open Art Exhibition) and the Sydney Royal Easter Show Exhibition. Julia (23 years) enjoys pastel and pencil drawing however, is well acquainted with a number of other art mediums including acrylic and charcoal. Annabel (21 years) is extremely passionate about protecting the environment and wishes to use her art as a means to spread awareness of threatened and endangered species, with a particular interest in Australian wildlife. The first day of the exhibition will be Saturday 5th of September and Annabel and Richard will be there for the opening 10:30 -12:30 and all other days Richard will be attending 10:30-12:30 to talk about the Green Family.
