22.01.2022 Another busy day here, more members available so we had the chance to cook the kransky! Used the 1914 hand crank forge for style points! This forge belonged to... Arthur Moir, member for Boulder back in the 50’s! It came back to Boulder a couple of years ago and has had use doing blacksmithing demonstrations! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Moir

22.01.2022 Fantastic to have the expertise of James Boyd in Kalgoorlie last week, talking about funding for the Arts; specifically in the private sector. Huge thanks to Creative Partnerships Australia for the workshop and the Building Better Regions fund and AngloGold Ashanti for making it possible for many of our attendees. We look forward to seeing the results!

12.01.2022 Tomorrow I get to hang out again with this awesome crew from BlackandCute, who’ve invited me along to do some photography workshops. So far we’ve had a lot of l...aughs at some ridiculous looking vintage cameras I own that would make taking selfies pretty awkward, and learned a little bit about the history and evolution of photography. There was also a quick rundown on things like aperture, complete with practical expert () advice like if you look in the mirror and flick the light on and off and notice how your pupil gets bigger or smaller that’s pretty much how aperture works. We also played around with instant film and digital SLRs to get a handle on exposure and composition. The girls have already created some beautiful images Big thanks to Moira and Faith who run the group, and to the girls for organising the project, which is supported by Regional Arts WA through the Drug Aware YCulture Regional 2020 grants program. Membership benefits and categories are available here: https://www.artgold.net.au/membership/benefits/ ... As the peak body for Creative Industries in the Goldfields, Artgold seeks to create a community that everyone wants to be a part of. Artgold provides accessible arts opportunities, celebrates our sector's achievements, promotes arts & cultural events and supports the professional development of artists and arts workers through training workshops and provides advocacy and consultancy services. You don't have to be an artist to sign up. We encourage art lovers and audience members to get behind our movement too. As a not for profit organisation, we rely on our member base to help us determine the interest of Arts & Culture in the Goldfields and provide proof of the impact that a thriving arts community has upon our livability prospects. If you become a member, we can deliver better opportunities for artists to create and share their art, participate in professional skills development training, and access funding grants, and for audiences it means more experiences to engage with exciting performances, exhibitions and public art programs in Kalgoorlie Boulder and the greater Goldfields. There are three (3) tiers of membership and a financial membership option ($20pp/org) for people and organisations who wish to join our committee and vote at our AGM. Artgold is proudly supported by the City of Kalgoorlie Boulder and appreciate that the level of operational funding we receive allows us to offer this initiative until the 31st of December 2020.
