25.01.2022 Today is World Young Rheumatic Diseases Day - WORD Day, an awareness raising day to help spread the word that children and young people get rheumatic diseases too. In Australia, there are over 6000 children and young people living with some form of arthritis, causing symptoms such as joint pain and swelling, joint stiffness, fatigue, skin rashes, fever, and generally feeling unwell. This also impacts on important activities like going to school, making friends, trying sports ...or other hobbies. By raising awareness among parents, doctors, primary practitioners, teachers and the general public, we can help in ensuring early diagnosis and a quick referral to specialised Paediatric Rheumatologists. Head to www.wordday.org.au to learn more, and spread the word that children and young people get arthritis too! #WORDDay2021
