24.01.2022 Thank you to each and every one of you that came along to my show last night. To say I was overwhelmed by the turnout and support shown to me would be an understatement. My doubts now feel rather silly. It was well worth it! So thank you, thank you, thank you!... I hope you enjoyed it too. Right now I reckon I'm ready for a good sleep. Michael.
21.01.2022 Sneak preview. Come along to my show to see it up close.
21.01.2022 Hi all. I'm on the hunt for some wood. Well actually I'm looking for a tree, or trees, that I can cut down or remove branches from. Ideally I'd like camellia, cherry, rhododendron or fruit woods. I'd prefer smoother bark and interesting shapes. 1-4 inch thick. ... Might be a long shot but if anyone knows of anything local to mountains please let me know. Thanks See more

06.01.2022 My 'Fawn' will soon be personally delivered to his new home in sunny Melbourne. This piece was made from around 500 pieces of timber from 40 or so native and exotic species and a few hours work. Thank you once again Ona Janzen for your fantastic photography and thank you 'Fawn' for the challenge, surprises, hard times and good.

04.01.2022 Working on some drawers. Various timbers including spalted Sycamore, Tassie Myrtle, Birdseye Willow, wine barrel timbers and PNG Rosewood. First time I've used the PNG Rosewood from some offcuts a friend gave me, lovely timber.
03.01.2022 Butterfly wings? No, they're thin slices of from some very pretty wood I found in a firewood pile. Wish I knew what type of wood it is.
01.01.2022 I've been a bit slack and forgot to post progress shots of the making of these tables but here are the finished pieces. I made a limited edition run of seven of these small bedside tables in various timbers. A minimalistic design with some nice details. Simple on the eye but definitely not so simple to make. Although there was a lot of work in them I thoroughly enjoyed the process and I'm really happy with how they came out with each having their own character. Three are gone but if you're interested in buying one or a pair please contact me.
