01.01.2022 Ruth Tuck was a great teacher in many ways. She took us very seriously as artists. One of the things she got us to do was constantly enter into competitions and exhibitions, with many students winning many prizes at local national and international levels. (Although in my case it took nearly 50 years to really sink in) It certainly pushed one into the reality of putting one's work out in public, of taking oneself seriously as an artist, dealing with all kinds of feedback on ones art. Most of my winners disappeared a long time ago. This one is a first prize from the Royal Adelaide Show.
