25.01.2022 Back by popular demand- one of my favourites, salt dough volcanoes. All you need is a coffee cup, salt dough, red paint and paper and a few rocks and some dirt from the garden!!!

19.01.2022 Lots of people have been asking what I do when I'm not being Art Smarties.... one day a week I teach art to all the children at Trentham Primary School, so much fun. Here is a sample of their work from the end of year art show inspired by Artist, Romero Britto. Fruit bowls by the Preps and Fruit drinks by the Grade 3/4 children. Two days a week I teach art at Lalor Secondary College. I love being able to teach toddlers up to secondary level. Such an interesting mix and it keeps me on my toes! Keep watching this space for examples of work from the two schools as well as my regular Art Smarties posts. Lots of creative ideas heading this way

18.01.2022 Collaged cities by Liam and Sam( both under the weather so we are stuck in the house). They've used the same shapes, but look at the difference a change of colour and a twist on a theme can make.Weve created a city at night and a colourful Indian city by day!!!

15.01.2022 Scaffolding drawing with a few props such as collaged buildings and a fire truck. The children loved drawing their own cities and telling their stories about how the fireman came to the rescue! Painting different tones of orange also reminded the children of their colour mixing skills.

12.01.2022 Just wanted to say a huge thanks to the Macedon Ranges Montessori for asking me to run a kids arts and crafts session at their annual spring fete. I had an awesome time helping the little ones make colourful crowns and it was so lovely to see them parading around the kinder in them! Fashion superstars!!! 03.01.2022 Art Smarties term four classes for preschool children are running at Woodend Neighbourhood House Monday afternoons from 2.15pn -3.00pm and at Riddell Neighbourhood House on Saturday mornings 11.30am-12.15pm. 02.01.2022 Super space pictures created by two brothers who love their collage and are gaining so much in terms of concentration, fine motor skills, problem solving techniques and just being creative. Arts and crafts are so important in helping all children but especially boys gain vital skills in preparation for school. Come and try some sessions and see the difference!!
