24.01.2022 New classes and workshops listed - reserve your space today.

23.01.2022 So proud of my students. These ladies began 6 weeks ago with a blank canvas and put their trust in me and followed my suggestions and learning new techniques to finally arrive at today’s completed paintings. We all learned from each other and enjoyed the journey - which is really what it’s all about. Well done and congratulations to all of you.

22.01.2022 An extra Ceramic Christmas Tree workshop has been added for Saturday 21st November to make sure everything is back in time for the Festive Season.

22.01.2022 My new stock has just landed at Peppercorn Gallery, Richmond. New range of Mutts - Doug, Boof, Mack, Rusty, Buster and Digga. And the Egbert family as well. Humpback whales and Soul Sista plaques.

22.01.2022 Spaces available in Monday Morning Ceramics starting 11th October. Give it a go - you never know - you might just love it!

22.01.2022 Hi everyone - I have a couple of spaces available in both the weekend and Monday afternoon workshops. Head over to my workshops page if you'd like to reserve a space.

20.01.2022 ArtworX Studioonline store has just launched - take a peek.

20.01.2022 The festive time is almost upon us and I am running 2 Festive Wreath Workshops - Thursday 26th November & Saturday 28th November. Numbers are limited so book early. All materials supplied. Come along to this fun creative class and take home this beautiful wreath that can be used every year.

20.01.2022 In 1974, when she was 87 years old, O’Keeffe took up an entirely new medium: ceramics. The tactile form was more conducive to her altered senses, and it allowed... her to experience the thrill of learning something entirely new. Helping O’Keeffe discover her new medium was her young confidant and friend Juan Hamilton, a sculptor who’d arrived on her doorstep looking for a job a few years earlier.

20.01.2022 Flukes and bubbles today

19.01.2022 My first time at a Raku firing workshop and these pieces where the outcome. Such an amazing process of some kind of ceramic alchemy takes place between firing and reduction using sawdust and water. I loved it. Didn’t know what to expect - so that was even better as I had no expectations. Cannot wait to play again.

19.01.2022 Here’s the guy who didn’t make the cut for the previous exhibition - sadly. We’ve all become quite attached to him in the studio. Especially his moniker - We’re all mad here! Which is of course true. So soon he’ll become part of the new Alice in Wonderland section of my garden. #aliceinwonderland #madhatter #ceramics #tasmanianceramics #tasmanianart #tasmanianartist #tasmanianmade #tasmanianceramicsassociation #ceramicart #ceramicsculpture

18.01.2022 I’m loving these funky little tripod pots. Don’t exactly know what they are for - or if they have to be ‘for’ anything at all. Just nice to look at and maybe just a teeny bit functional.

17.01.2022 New classes have just been listed. So as our days begin to get a little longer I thought it was time to offer some new courses. Please let me know if there might be something you are interested in.

16.01.2022 Beautiful Midnight Blue with a touch of sea mist glazes bring these pieces to life. So pleased how they turned out. I've got a couple more to come.

14.01.2022 I love making these. Somehow I find them relaxing. There’s a lot of work in each one as they are entirely hand crafted. A lot of patience and a steady hand is needed. As most of my friends know - patience is not one of my best traits. But it’s worth it in the end.

14.01.2022 Meet my new little egg family. Just a bit of quirky fun.

14.01.2022 Completely out of my comfort zone but always excited to try something new. Loving the textures and colours in this experimental abstract.

11.01.2022 Making progress - slowly.

09.01.2022 A couple more whales out of the kiln. Mumma and calf look great together. I have experimented with another dark grey glaze on a calf so I will glaze its mumma the same. These are quite large beasts - the mother whale measures about 35 cms and baby around 20 cms - so it's been a challenge to build them, dry them out and fire twice. But a challenge that was worth it. I'm very happy with the results.

09.01.2022 I’m pretty happy how this little guy turned out - exactly as I’d hoped it would.

04.01.2022 Productive afternoon in the studio. Something that’s been running around my mind for a while and it was a good feeling to get something sculpted in this Black clay. Hopefully if all goes well this will be my entry into an exhibition next month. let’s hope the clay gods are kind to me. I’ll keep you posted.

03.01.2022 Aquila is the Latin word for Eagle - so there was no doubt what I was going to name this painting. It's a word that carries a lot of weight and power - something that I hope I have been able to get across in my painting. These birds of prey are quite phenomenal and I think this guy is just looking across his realm - waiting for something tasty to catch his eye. Aquila is an original artwork and is available for purchase from my website - postage and handling included. I may do a run of prints if anyone is interested. Please let me know.

03.01.2022 The originals of these paintings are on display for sale at Peppercorn Gallery or right here in my NEW online store @ artworxstudio - go to the website to see my range of originals and prints that are available - postage and handling included.
