Jane’s high standards, diligence and care for her students is renowned amongst the many Old Girls she has taught and the School is very sad to see her go. We are delighted to celebrate the musical achievement of our Year 12 student Beatrice Colombis whose ‘Cousin Quartet’ won the National Musica Viva Youth Chamber Music Competition Strike A Chord. Beatrice and her younger brother Dylan played the violin and their cousins, Jamie and Hanna Wallace played the cello and viola respectively. They played Felix Mendelssohn String Quartet Op.44 No.1, 1st movement. Congratulations also go to our Year 9 student Angellinah Guo who made the finals with her ensemble ‘Serendipity Quartet’ again a huge achievement! 04.01.2022 These stunning photos submitted by Ascham students were recently were awarded prizes at the Woollahra Council Youth Photographic Awards and Short Film Prize. Congratulations to Jessica Mulligan in Year 10 who was the overall winner of the Senior Photography category for her work titled, Channel. The judge commented that it was ‘a very contemporary image yet somehow timeless.’ Congratulations also go to Year 9 student Sabrina Stitt who received a Highly Commended Award for her photograph ‘The Things that We Hide’ which the judge described as being ‘a playful composition with a beautiful colour palette.’ The exhibition is currently online here: https://woollahracouncil.photoshelter.com//2020-Youth-Phot
