25.01.2022 Its raining!!! Everyone around the farm is loving the rain today, except maybe the 2020 ram lambs who are all white and shiny from the rain.

24.01.2022 Ashcharmoo Poll Dorsets has been selected to participate in Round 4 of the Virbac Multimin Performance Ready Challenge. We started using Multimin with our AI program in March this year and followed through with the AI group at pre-lambing and are about to use it with their lambs when we wean them. As part of the Challenge we have given one of our three April Lambing groups all a shot of Multimin prior to Joining, they will also get another shot pre-lambing and will follow after the Challenge with their lambs at weaning. A second group will have a shot at pre-lambing and their lambs will also be given a shot at weaning. The third group will be the control and not get Multimin as part of their pre-joining/pre-lamb checks and vaccinations. We will track the ewes at preg scanning, pre-lambing and through to lambing to see the results.

15.01.2022 Our first AI baby has arrived, a ram lamb sired by Valley Vista "Fyfe" (138-14) out of a Kentish Down ewe, with another on the way. A second AI ewe is also lambing, an Ashcharmoo ewe who was part of our show team last year. They are 6 days early and obviously wanted to get into the shed ahead of the predicted overnight snow.

15.01.2022 We had our show rams in this afternoon, this young 4 month old ram is a standout. The kids have nicknamed him 'Dynamite'. Out of an Armdale Park ewe and by Valley Vista 138/14 he is going to be one to watch.

12.01.2022 This is 200159, a 10 week old ram lamb out of our AI program. Sired by Valley Vista 138-14 'Fyfe' and out of an Armdale Park ewe he weighed in today at 50kgs. He will be one to watch this coming year.

11.01.2022 We weaned our first lot of 2020 ram lambs yesterday, these boys are between 10 and 14weeks old and weighed between 45 and 55kgs.

01.01.2022 Is there any place safer than in your mother's arms?.. lambing is moving thick and fast at the moment, with lots of triplets and twins. Our AI girls start lambing next week which we are really looking forward to, all were AI'd to two Valley Vista rams and we have fingers crossed for some outstanding lambs.
