24.01.2022 201004 Subiaco v Ashy - A test of depth With a lot of players out on holiday, injured or suspended the 16's came to the rescue and played 18's only going down 4 - 0 but playing good football at times. The ressies had a lot of 18's and couldn't match the physicality of their opponents. The first team were unlucky going down to a late goal and deserved so much more. The referee allowed our opponents to be physical whilst ensuring we didn't have the same luxury. However the posi...tives are Roy made his first team debut after playing in the two previous games and saved a penalty. We scored early and looked very dangerous going close several times. Despite all the changes, challenges and disappointments of this season we played out until the end. No other team in this league has played as many 16 and 17 year old's in key positions all season, you have proven you can play at this level, hold your heads high and bring on next season. See more

17.01.2022 200919 Ashfield Vs Quinns - Not our day. All three sides lost, Reserves unlucky having a good goal scrubbed and a dubious penalty awarded against them. First team competed well with it taking 42 minutes before the opposition fashioned a goal, in what was an even game overall the difference was our inability to make something of the chances we had.

16.01.2022 000926 Swans v Ashy: 18's with an easy 3-0 no need to turn up affair, Ressies played some really good football, dominated the possession and scored 3 of the four goals in a 2 all draw. First team was a game of two halves, 2 up after 15 minutes and cruising, playing some classy football at times but couldn't get the goal needed to Kill of the Swans. Gave Swan a sniff in the second half from some poor defending and although it was in the dying minutes Swan capitalized on another mistake to snatch a draw.

15.01.2022 200829 Ashy v Quinns; A test of depth with injuries affecting all three sides.18's and ressies started well with good first halves but didn't go so well in the second stanza both losing. The first team soaked up the pressure and gave a good account of themselves as they ground out a gutsy 2-1 win over the high flying Quinns.

13.01.2022 200912 Ashy vs Stirling, Ressies came back from 1 down to win 5 -1 with a late flurry of goals. For the League side it was a tale of two halves, first half lost 2 -0 in a lackluster performance winning the second half 1 nil and unlucky not to get a result losing 2-1.

13.01.2022 200905 Mandurah vs Ashy: 18's played well in trying conditions and battled to the end in their loss. The ressies fought out a one nil win but the goal was a stunner! The first team were magnificent in coming back from 2-1 down to stun the Dolphins at their home ground. The camera does not like low light conditions so only the 18's get the photos this week.

10.01.2022 201005 On Sunday I went and watched our 16's play, 2 all at half time but in the second half they put their foot on the pedal and scored another 6 without reply. Some great skill on display considering some of these had played State League the day before. Well done lads.

05.01.2022 Great result from our youngest ever first team squad against an experienced Quinns FC side. Jake Lumpkin, was the club’s youngest first team captain, possibly the League’s youngest ever captain. Thanks to our MLA, Dave Kelly MP for coming down and tossing the coin.

05.01.2022 We can announce that Santi Toro will return to the club for the 2021 season in a strong capacity. ST will stand as head coach of the U18 & U16 squads as well as act as technical consultant under Greg Hart. He will support the philosophy of the club by aiming to push young players through the club rankings and WA system. A young coach who is experienced in youth development and has a passion in assisting players progress in their footballing pathways.... I’m a believer that results aren’t the determining factor when It comes to player development. However, a great reflection at the end of the season for any squad is to say you competed at the top end of the league. The most important objective for me is to develop players that can be hopeful to play first team football eventually To be successful this season, it will require players to be resilient through tough times, senior football is a big step, especially for a very young U18 team. #THISISASHFIELD Barclayss
