25.01.2022 The INSARAG Training Working Group have met in Liverpool, England this week. The group has been working on development of the upcoming IEC/R Team Leaders and Mentor course. The team members have returned home and are working towards the next update at the 2018 Team Leaders Meeting in Romania.



23.01.2022 Just left the UNDAC refresher in Philippines and there are more UNDAC members interested in INSARAG training and aware of the need for a USAR Cell in the OSOCC. Its more evident than ever that the gap between UNDAC and INSARAG is narrowing. I strongly believe that the UNDAC course needs to focus more on INSARAG and the International USAR response.

21.01.2022 The Training Working Group is back on line! The TWG has decided that our online presence was lacking, so we are now going to update our followers on our progress. This week we are at the 2017 INSARAG Team Leaders Meeting in Bali, Indonesia. We have met for the last 2 days and are facilitating at the meeting in support of more than 150 Team Leaders from around the globe. More to come!

15.01.2022 INSARAG IEC/R Team Leaders, Mentors and Secretariat Representative Training was conducted at the Sultanate of Oman Public Authority for Civil Defense and Ambulance (PACDA) in Muscat, Oman from 10 -13 February 2020. The Training Working Group (TWG) together with representatives from Team Leaders, Information Management Working Group (IMWG), Light Team Working Group (LTWG) and Medical Working Group (MWG), prepared the course throughout 2019. The revised training now includes the recent changes. The 18 participants from 12 countries and OCHA shared their experience in IEC/Rs, and mutually learned to take leadership roles in the classification system.

11.01.2022 Our friends at the INSARAG Information Management Working Group are facilitating the KoBo "Training of Trainers" course this week in Finland. The course is designed to answer the need of USAR/INSARAG community for training in the KoBo Toolbox. It is aimed at selected managers and instructors from IEC classified USAR teams. The main objective of the course is to deliver the skills and knowledge required to enhance a participants ability to competently operate and educate others about using KoBo Toolbox for design forms, collecting and analysing information. Most members of the IMWG are in attendance. We wish the IMWG a successful course!

10.01.2022 The TWG is gearing up for the annual INSARAG Team Leader meeting. PLease contact us if you have issues you would like to be considered for discussion.

09.01.2022 The course in Muscat is already at 3rd day. Today, the participants went out in rubble piles and shared best practices on how to make sure the exercise props to be arranged in a way a team can simulate tactical decision making.

09.01.2022 The INSARAG Training Working Group will be meeting in Abu Dhabi from 9 - 14 October. Our agenda will include some reviews of training material for our IEC Classifiers. We are still interested in your thoughts on the use of IT in the field for assessments and plan to discuss how we might make use of some of the current technologies......stay tuned. Wazza

02.01.2022 The Training Working Group is meeting in Tinglev, Denmark for 4 days this week. Our first meeting of 2018 sees us preparing for the upcoming "Classifier Team Leader/Mentor course", reviewing Manual 2 Volume C, reviewing the IEC/R Checklist and drafting a separate IER Checklist. So its full power to the laptops and coffee for everyone!!
