18.01.2022 As an essential service, we will be open on Monday delivering meals to our community. Our delivery drivers will be wearing masks and gloves, keeping their distance from our clients and will deliver to outside their door. Volunteers and staff in the at-risk category have been recommended to stay home and if any volunteer or staff member is not feeling well, they will be advised to stay away from the Service and get tested. We hope everyone stays safe during the lock down and abides by the rules. We certainly will be, to ensure our vulnerable clients will be kept safe.

18.01.2022 Please donate to Foodbank who have been generously supporting Ashgrove Meals on Wheels with heavily discounted (and regularly free!) food supplies.

18.01.2022 After 16 years of volunteering with us, Joe is hanging up the washing gloves. We wish Joe all the best in his retirement and thank him for his wonderful service to us.

18.01.2022 Shout out to Bunnings Keperra who kindly provided the garden bed, mulch, potting mix, stakes, compost bin and netting for our Community Garden. We will be growing lots of vegies and herbs to be used in our kitchen to make our delicious meals even more so! Many thanks to Gillianne for spending the morning setting up the garden and for providing the plants. This garden will be cared for by our volunteers and members of our community with a disability. We hope this garden will provide an opportunity for social interaction, learning new gardening tips and a feeling of inclusion and being valued. If you have any items that you would like to donate to our garden, then please contact the Office on 3366 4299. Thanks!

18.01.2022 A huge thanks to Woolworths at Keperra and Paddington for each donating 6 packets of sausages to be cooked up into tasty meals for our wonderful clients. Shout out to Nev Brough for organising and collecting the sausages. We really do appreciate the fantastic support we receive from our local shops and welcome all donations.

18.01.2022 On Monday night, we held our 48th Annual General Meeting. It was great to share our past year's successes with a small but influential group of guests. Many thanks to our hard working Committee who are selfless in their commitment to ensuring that Ashgrove Meals on Wheels continues to provide a very important service to our community, especially in these challenging times.

17.01.2022 Happy Australia Day!! Our service is closed today while we take a break to enjoy and celebrate our wonderful nation. We truly are the lucky country! We’ll be back to normal operations from tomorrow.

16.01.2022 Happy birthday to one of our favourite volunteers, Ron. Ron comes in every day, rain, hail or shine and is a jack of all trades. He's also a "chick magnet"! We would be lost without him and thank him for his dedication to Ashgrove Meals on Wheels. Many thanks to Jason Mackle for creating the amazing cake and to Eleanor Heaphy for creating the adorable chicks!

16.01.2022 Volunteers, please check the list and advise the Office if you have visited any of the places during the listed times. This list is updated daily. Thank you!

14.01.2022 Thank you to Kathryn from Auchenflower who has donated some items from her pantry which she no longer wants. We are more than happy to accept items that we can either use in our kitchen (eg food ingredients, cleaning supplies) and office (eg stationery, copy paper) or can be given to volunteers and clients as gifts. All food items must be unopened and not expired. Please contact the Office if you would like to donate any items. Thanks in advance

13.01.2022 Woo Hoo! Ashgrove Meals on Wheels was successful in the latest round of the Gambling Community Benefit Funding Program!! The grant is for painting the interior and exterior of the building and for new blinds throughout the building. We are so looking forward to a fresh new look at Ashgrove Meals on Wheels! Many thanks to the Queensland Government for the funding #gamblingcommunitybenefitfundqueensland

12.01.2022 It's always a yummy Friday here at Ashgrove Meals on Wheels especially with such delectable treats such as these! Thank you Eleanor Heaphy!

12.01.2022 It was an absolute pleasure to visit our client Joy and present her with a lovely orchid to celebrate her 100th birthday! Joy had previously volunteered at Toowoomba Meals on Wheels many years ago, so it is quite fitting that we are returning the favour by now delivering meals to her! We wish Joy a wonderful time celebrating her centenary year.

12.01.2022 Due to the generosity of Michelle Weaver and family, we are now the lucky owners of a washing machine, dryer and outdoor setting. Having a washing machine on-site will remove the need for our staff to take home the washing and the lovely outdoor setting will allow our volunteers and staff to enjoy their cuppa in our garden. Thanks Michelle and family!!!

10.01.2022 We are very lucky to have so many amazing, kind and charitable volunteers. Melanie pictured on the left, delivers meals every Tuesday for us as well as donating much of her time to the wonderful charity, Share The Dignity who provide sanitary and personal products to the many women and girls who are homeless, suffering from domestic violence or who are just doing it tough. Ashgrove Meals on Wheels is happy to be a collection point for anyone wanting to drop off sanitary items or any new unused toiletry items.

10.01.2022 We're back at Bunnings Keperra this Sunday 9th August, running the Community Sausage Sizzle again, so come on down and grab a sausage and say hi.

09.01.2022 Check out our new snazzy uniforms and aprons!! Thanks to Queensland Quality Embroidery for doing a top notch job on them. If any volunteer would like to purchase a shirt, then we are providing a small subsidy towards the cost. Please contact the Office if you would like to place an order.

09.01.2022 Thank you Kate of Paddington for your donation of breakfast and snack items which we will use in our Breakfast Packs and Snack Packs for our clients. We gladly take donations of pantry items unopened and within their use by date.
