20.01.2022 We have Allie’s big brother with us for the school holidays. Ronnie drew all of us together and wrote each of our names on the board. Ronnie didn’t need any help to spell his name or Allie’s name but needed help to spell the rest of the names. Ronnie knows all the letters and is doing a fantastic job teaching the other children what he’s been up to at school!

19.01.2022 I thought I could hear something coming from the sleeping room so I thought I’d go in and check on the sleeping girls to find they had woken up and were having a good old chat with each other.

19.01.2022 Allie is having a cuppa and doing some work on the computer with her baby.

18.01.2022 Lots of sliding action happening !

17.01.2022 Radhya was feeling sad, Edie went up to Radhya and gave her a pat on the back that then lead to a kiss and a cuddle. Suddenly Radhya is fine and happy and ready to go. Cuddles make everything better. Edie is able to acknowledge other people’s emotion and show empathy by comforting them.

17.01.2022 Jhett pulled the books out and was having a look through them. I suggested to Edie and Ivy to sit down with Jhett. The girls went over and sat with Jhett and looked through the books and listened to Jhett read the stories.

10.01.2022 Today we practised our fire evacuation procedure. Before we made our way outside to the evacuation point we had a group discussion about a fire at daycare and what door we would need to use depending on where the fire is. ‘Hmmmm what would we do if the fridge was on fire ? Which door would we use?’ ‘That door!’ Jhett shouts and points to the front entrace sliding doors. ‘That door!’ Edie shouts and points along with Jhett. We discuss a few more scenarios and think about which door would be the right one to leave. Both Jhett and Edie listened very well and contributed to the group discussion.

10.01.2022 Good morning Just a reminder to my families that I will be CLOSED next Monday the 5th of October for the Public Holiday AS WELL AS the following day Tuesday the 6th of October.

09.01.2022 Space Bikkies! Using black icing, space inspired sprinkles and arrowroot biscuits the children designed their very own space bikkies! They were very hesitant of the black icing to begin with and thought it might have been vegemite but once they had a tiny taste there was a lot of eating while they were decorating

06.01.2022 Trying to play quietly while Jonah is sleeping has proven to be a VERY difficult task for the children today. But we got there in the end. The children had to listen very carefully to roll the ball only and to use teamwork to keep the ball in the triangle. As the children went on with their game they were able to get faster and faster.

04.01.2022 This morning the children are using paintbrushes and a range of recycled items and toys to use as tools to create a painting of whatever they like.

03.01.2022 Using paint and a paintbrush Jhett painted some styrofoam balls and created his own solar system
