22.01.2022 Chicko back in action in the 1.10m at Tamworth. #teamtuffrock TuffRock Australia

22.01.2022 This weekend we headed to Muswellbrook Show for our last start before our Championships show. Olive's new horse unfortunately sustained an untimely minor injury during the week which will put him out of action for just a couple of weeks, so Monty had to step up to the plate again. They received a 4th place in the 75cm Junior and made a good effort in Monty's first 95cm course but unfortunately some scary jump fill caused them a bit of grief. ... Chicko was feeling pretty fresh in the 95cm but managed to contain his excitement in the 1.05m for a steady and neat round, perfect preparation for this weekend.

22.01.2022 Wonderfully successful weekend despite the rain for some of my riders at the Hunter Spring Showjumping Championships. Sarah and Carloss: 1st - 65cm Junior 2nd - 75cm Junior... 1st - 70cm Junior 1st - 80cm Junior Olive and Monty: 6th - 65cm Junior 2nd 70cm Junior 6th 80cm Junior Casey and Snaz: 4th 70cm Junior It was great to see the girls all out having fun with their ponies (or borrowed ponies in Olive's case!) School horse Monty had a blast getting out and about again.

20.01.2022 Congratulations to Adisyn on winning Champion Hacking Rider and Overall Hacking Champion (out of the entire club) at Coalfields Riding Club for 2017! A MASSIVE achievement for Adisyn at only 5yrs old, taking the title against riders of all ages including Adults.

19.01.2022 Always the over-achiever. 'Too small' says Chicko. The spotted horse earned himself a 3rd place ribbon today on his 15th birthday!... Enjoying getting back on track after some time off from competition. . . . . . . . . . . . #horse #equestrian #horses #horsesofinstagram #pony #instahorse #equinephotography #pferd #horseriding #riding #showjumping #horsephotography #cheval #jumping #ponies #caballo #horsebackriding #thoroughbred #bay #quarterhorse #eq #pferde #horseshow #equitation #hunterjumper #horsestagram #paard #jumper #horses_of_instagram #equestrianism

12.01.2022 Happy 15th Birthday to the gentle giant and super school horse Monty! Pictured with Chloe after jumping their biggest jump together so far - 75cm!

10.01.2022 Monty and Tahlea celebrating having a dam again with some cross country practise.

08.01.2022 It was a crazy, full-on month in April which left me no time to give a proper update so here it is... The 15th saw us head to jump club for a training day. Chloe had her first ever outing on school horse Monty, first jumping the 45cm course and then had a good attempt at 60cm but unfortunately was having trouble adjusting to Monty's change in energy levels from at home and ended with an unscheduled dismount but she bravely got back on and rode well aside from that. Olive then... took Monty for a couple of rounds to finish him up for the day while Turtle was still recovering from injury. Sarah and Grace were also out getting in some rounds before the upcoming shows. Excitingly, I had my first outing with my new horse Bobby and he did not disappoint, cruising around without a foot wrong all day. On the 22nd we headed to Silver Spurs Autumn Show at Singleton. This time Team Tandara was represented by myself, Olive, Grace, Hannah and honorary member Sarah. Sarah and Olive were the stars of the weekend with Sarah and Carloss coming home with 4th in 70cm and Olive and Turtle (back in action) 2nd in 80cm. The rest of us would probably prefer to forget the day with a few issues to be had but it was overall a nice day out and a learning experience. Just a few days later we were packed and ready to go again for the 3 day Hunter Region Showjumping Championships - an event I have a major hand in running. Sarah and Olive were again both in fine form with the following results: Sarah and Carloss: 6th - 70cm Friday 3rd - 80cm Friday 4th - 75cm Sunday Olive and Turtle: 2nd - 70cm Friday 6th - 80cm Saturday 6th - 85cm Sunday 5th - 1m Sunday In between my duties running the show I managed to squeeze in some rounds on Bobby. We were in the process of figuring out which bit is most suited so we used the weekend mostly as training but Bobby took quite a few opportunities to show off his talent and I am very excited for what our future holds. A bit of a break now for Bobby and I to spend some time getting used to each other before we head out again, while Grace and Olive are heading off to Northside Riding Club next weekend.

07.01.2022 Its been a quiet few days at Tandara Horse Park without the usual greeting from Cameo when she would catch sight of anyone who may have the potential to bring her food... I knew Cameo only in her final years, and when I first met her at nearly 30 years old boosting the confidence of Casey and Jack, I certainly didn't anticipate what she still had to give. Years later I started my small business teaching riding lessons and Cameo stepped up to the mark as she taught some of m...y very first students. When she'd had enough she let me know and she instead focused her energy on being the head mare of Tandara, putting every single horse in their place. She lived the life of luxury in her final years engaging in all of her favourite pastimes - eating, waiting for more food, taunting other horses over the fence as they rode in the arena, butt scratching on the trees until the trees were worn smooth and more eating. Cameo went to sleep for the final time at around 3am on Saturday morning.

06.01.2022 WE HAVE MOVED! I am pleased to announce an exciting new change - I will now be teaching out of the beautiful Belford Equine Park. The facilities for students at this exciting new venue include:... - Enclosed sand dressage arena with lights - Second smaller sand arena - Full course of show jumps - Cross Country jumps - Sporting equipment and obstacles - Under-cover area for tacking up/grooming - Concrete wash bay I currently have some spaces available for regular lessons so please contact me to book in. As always, you can bring your own horse or I have school horses available.

06.01.2022 Entries open tonight at 7pm!

05.01.2022 Its been a busy two weeks for my riders with two jump club days, two weeks apart. So a long update is in order... Most notably, Olive had her first two outings with her new horse 'Turtle' aka 'Barilla Bay' who she is already forming a fantastic partnership with heading towards the Championships show at the end of March. Sarah and Carloss were again on fine form, finding their feet in the 90cm height and getting used to riding courses more technically correct to work towards c...lear rounds. Grace and Alonso were out after some time off at the end of last year, working towards getting back up the heights and Dastan made an appearance at the first training day before giving himself another break with an abscess. It was also great to have another Tandara resident out with us with Hannah and Charlie cruising around the courses on both days. Chicko has been absent from both days despite having a really positive start to the year in his work. A sore from his rug has left him very uncomfortable under saddle so he as needed some time off to heal. Being a horse that suffers from itch this has been a tricky ordeal, however luckily he has plenty of Q-Itch from Lilymere Equine Products to soothe his itchy spots from the break from his rug. So with Chicko out and not wanting to miss out on the action, I brought trusty old Monty out for a spin today for a bit of fun which we both had. Monty doesn't ride without his Tuffrock GI from TuffRock Australia Team TuffRock to help keep his ulcer prone tummy settled.

05.01.2022 I took Solly for a spin around her new facilities this week and she had a blast! (Don't tell her she's old!) At 27, this old girl is still going strong thanks to TuffRock Australia Team TuffRock

02.01.2022 Happy Birthday to my #1... Only one more year until you can buy grog and go clubbing without your fake ID... 02.01.2022 Bit of a late post... We finished up the competition year on the weekend of 25th/26th November, heading out to a new show - Silver Spurs at Singleton on Saturday, followed by Jump Club training on Sunday. Olive and Monty had a testing time at Singleton in their first round but ended on a positive note with what would have been a clear round if not for the jockey getting lost!... Sarah and Carloss were of course again in fine form, this time competing in the large and competitive Open division with the age for juniors at this show being lower than the usual 18. They came away with 4th and 5th place ribbons. Chicko and I had a positive day with a double clear 90cm for 5th place and an unlucky rail in the 1m but an otherwise nice round. I was very pleased with our rounds and decided to finish up our weekend there. On Sunday Sarah and Olive headed out to jump club for the final club day of the year with things to work on from the previous day. Olive had some fantastic rounds with Monty, showing huge improvement from the day before and from the previous spring show. Sarah and Carloss also had some great rounds and ended the day by completing their first 90cm round. All around it was a positive end to the year and I look forward to what next year brings for myself and my wonderful students.

01.01.2022 'How quiet are your school horses?' you may ask... Olive was assigned to give Monty some work one day recently but she felt Monty was better suited this day to be used as a stepladder to trim the tree overhanging the arena. Monty had zero complaints about his new job.

01.01.2022 What an awesome video!
