20.01.2022 A sad day has happened here. And I am not sure how I feel about it. I knew it was coming as I suspected it was the case over the weekend, but blamed it on where the item came from. But today cemented it. You see it has come time to break up with processed chocolates and sugars for good. Today the realisation came from the humble freddo frog. I treated myself to the small joyful treat when I went shopping today. But the sad thing happened, it tasted too rich and was not joyfu...l anymore. The sugar felt like it was burning my mouth. So my old mate chocolate that time has come where we are now parting ways. I am sure my hips, butt and thighs thank you for it though. My hormones not so much. But this is because of all my hard work with The Healthy Mummy and doing the 28 day challenges. I have not denied my body of chocolate, just used healthier alternatives. It is paying off. 18.01.2022 There are times where I wish some nurses would take time to not be in a rush a remember a these things. 1) Patients are not just their ID numbers. We are humans and saying hello is a simple and easy interaction. 2) Our need for medication is not a deliberate ploy to piss off your day. 3) When our Dr gives one set of instructions he wants, it is not to piss you off, and yep he and I are both expecting it to happen. Neither of us want to hear how much you don’t think it shoul...d happen that way, it is not your call. 4) Stress and Anxiety will make things worse. Taking your bad mood out on the patient is not cool. It only causes us distress. 5) My body, my choice. See more

08.01.2022 Happy International Women’s Day! May we keep breaking down the barriers proving more and more that we can do it every single day, so our next generations of women don’t feel pressured into fitting into some of the stereotypes of generations that have long gone before her. May we raise our sons also to support women to be who they want to be and help build the women up in their lives and not oppress them into outdated stereotypes of how women once were. #internationalwomensday #healthymummywecandoit #iamwomanhearmeroar

07.01.2022 I am just a girl living my best life. Being true to me and my family. 2019 can only bring greater things to our lives.

01.01.2022 This weekend we stayed at Rydges Southbank - Brisbane, for a special romantic getaway. It was the first time taking my electric wheelchair away and we had done some research into what hotels had rooms suitable for me. I was mighty impressed with the room (I am kicking myself for not taking photos of the room!), the size, facilities, the little accessibility details. The bathroom was amazing with a built in shower bench that folded back up for non disabled uses. And better sti...ll plenty of places to park the chair! I was worried we would be on a lower floor but we were on the 6th floor. And still got an awesome view. We were so impressed I think it won’t be our last visit, even though we probably won’t be leaving it 14 years between visits this time lol. #rydges #rydgessouthbank #wheelchairfriendly #disabilityaccessability #shortbreaks #holidays #romanticweekends See more
