23.01.2022 While there is a lull in the cappuccino brigade, one of the staff at the coffee stall at Westend Markets manages to take a few minutes rest to check out social media updates and have some water. All to soon the crowds return looking for a hit of caffeine to calm the nerves. Shot taken with my Olympus OM-1, the film was Kentmere shot at box speed, or 400 ASA in old money. Developed in Ilford Ilfotec DD-X at 20C 1:4 for 11:30 and printed on Fomaspeed 312.

22.01.2022 How I spot my photos! Sometimes there are dust spots on the print. I deal with them with 0.1 mm Artline Pen. I use the dotting and blotting to build up the tone from light grey to black.

16.01.2022 As I practice the dark(room) arts I find it is really beneficial to revisit books that I first had as my photography course text in the mid 80’s. It is Michael Langford’s The Darkroom Handbook. Over 340 pages of film photography darkroom techniques.

11.01.2022 Swing How come the simple things are as much fun as the expensive things. The swing has had a hard life for a good few years, the rope has snapped a few times and has been tied together to extend the pleasure children get from swinging under the tree. In the background we see a ladder has been added to allow the next generation of tree climbing monkeys to explore the world. I love the fact it exists as it does, and has not been surrounded with a barrier, safety matting and a... bunch or regulations. Shot taken with my Olympus OM-1 with Fomapan 100 shot at EI 200, or 200 ASA in old money. Developed in Kodak XTOL at 20C 1:1 for 10:30 and printed on Fomaspeed 312.

08.01.2022 Steel Rover The barge moves upriver towards the spot where the new footbridge is been built. It is part of a deal made to provide access from the South Bank to the City, or more correctly to the new casino that is been built in Brisbane. A more cynical man than I would suggest that the bridge is to tempt people to enter the casino to help pay for things. Shot taken with my Olympus OM-1 with Fomapan 100 shot at EI 200, or 200 ASA in old money. Developed in Kodak XTOL at 20C 1:1 for 10:30 and printed on Fomaspeed 312.
