24.01.2022 Another big signing for our Hornets VFL/East Coast side for 2021. Welcome to the Hornets - Corey Lyons Recruited from Sandringham Dragons, the Brisbane Lions used their final pick of the 2016 NAB AFL Draft to secure Corey Lyons.... Known as a ball magnet, he uses his high footy IQ to find space around the contest. Lyons dominated the midfield in the 2019 season for the Lions NEAFL side, averaging 29.2 disposals, 6.6 marks and just under 1 goal per game, helping the side remain undefeated. Corey is an exciting addition to the Hornets midfield and will play a big role for the team in 2021. #welcomeCorey

15.01.2022 Our final player signings before Christmas is one for all the true blue Hornets fans Three of our club stalwarts, Billy Ganiatsas, Nick Sculpher & Nick Jackson have signed on for another QFA campaign in 2021 These guys know what it means to be a #Hornet4Life... Billy and Sculph have both played here since they were 6 year olds back in 2002. Between them they have amassed over 650 games in the Brown and Gold. Sculph has been an integral part of the QFA midfield for a number of years and provides great run and carry through the middle of the ground along with the ability to go forward and kick goals. Billy has become one of the true leaders amongst the QFA team. His ability to play both a lock down and run off defensive style of football has made him a key part of the teams backline in recent years. Nick (Jackson) has been with the Hornets since he was a 16 year old. After spending 4 seasons with our NEAFL team, Nick has shown great loyalty to the club by playing with the QFA team and was one of the Captains this year. A popular figure around the entire club, having Nick re-sign is a great step forward for the 2021 season. #Hornet4Life #oneclub
