25.01.2022 New dates available! HOMELAND STORY is an amazing film showing 50 years of real-life footage of Donydji - a small Indigenous community in North East Arnhem land.... In 1974, Dr Neville White, a biological anthropologist, spent part of each year on the Homeland, responding to the community's request to resist the threat of mining license claims. It is a moving portrait of a resilient and determined community facing the challenges of maintaining their Donydji Homeland and preserving their vibrant culture. #endtrachoma2020 #rotaryopensopportunities See more

21.01.2022 After many weeks without face-to-face contact, on Saturday 20th June members had the opportunity to catch up with our Youth Exchange student Maria at Anzac Park. This was an opportunity to say both 'hello' and 'goodbye', as Maria will be leaving to return home to Milan, Italy on 3rd July. Maria has been an outstanding ambassador for her country and for Rotary during her time with us during a difficult time. We wish Maria a safe journey home and all the best for the future. #rotaryconnectstheworld #rotaryyouthexchange #rotarymundingburra

19.01.2022 A successful completion of 'Project Devlin' on Saturday with the presentation of a new Mitsubishi Outlander to Devlin's mother Elvira at Pickerings Mitsubishi. The short ceremony was well attended with representatives from Southern Cross Catholic College, our funding partners the Rotary Club of Townsville, and Sunrise Rotary Townsville and a great roll up from Mundingburra Rotarians. We were able to leverage a grant from the Rotary Australia Benevolent Fund, and a contribution from the family to achieve this outstanding result. Congratulations to all involved in making this happen!

06.01.2022 Friends, This is an alternate RAWCS Project that you can support, providing job creation and emergency flood relief in Timor-Leste through the Alola Foundation and Rotary Club of Kew, Victoria. The Alola Foundation is a well established employment creation organisation with good connections in the community. Many families are supported by their projects. With flooding on top of COVID lockdowns, the need is urgent. Thanks for your consideration. IPDG Ron

04.01.2022 Nice day for a Garden Party. Today was to be the DG's Cork and Fork Garden Party in aid of The Rotary Foundation in our garden. The garden is ready, but COVID-19 has prevented us proceeding.

04.01.2022 Mundingburra members enjoyed an away visit last week to the Townsville SES Unit Qld State Emergency Service Operations and Training Centre at Garbutt last week. Assistant Commissioner Steve Barber and Regional Manager John Forde took the opportunity to thank Rotary for the donation of two trailers, one a multi-purpose mobile kitchen, and one an ATV transporter, funded by the North Queensland Flood Appeal. A third trailer is under construction, which will be based in Mount Isa to service the western region. Members enjoyed a BBQ meal prepared by the local SES volunteers. This was an outstanding opportunity to view an impressive facility.

02.01.2022 When a State of Emergency was declared recently in Timor-Leste, part of Rotary District 9550, due to COVID-19, it resulted in food shortages in many rural and r...emote villages, but Rotary, with its Australian connections, was there to lend a hand! The government’s State of Emergency resulted in many activities being suspended. These included weekly markets which have been closed for two months. Subsistence farmers from rural and remote areas rely heavily on these markets to sell local produce such as cassava, papaya and corn, with proceeds from these sales in turn allowing them to purchase essential supplies of rice and other items to feed their families. With monetary donations by individual Rotarians, including a Rotarian couple from Victoria, and the Rotary Club of Wynnum and Manly in Queensland, the Rotary Club of Dili, led by President Graciana Herculano, has been able to purchase and deliver food and other essential items to several of these rural and remote villages. Graciana’s efforts have taken place over three recent weekends, and have involved purchasing, packaging and delivering food and other essential items to the very needy and grateful villagers. 02.01.2022 Mundingburra held its 'hybrid' Changeover ceremony last night with a small group in attendance at incoming President Shane's workplace, and other members joining via zoom. The meeting included the induction of PDG Robert Tardiani and wife Sue as members of Mundingburra, following the closure of the Townsville South West club. President Sue presented her report, the chains of office were exchanged in a ceremony conducted by Neil Andrews, and DG Ron acknowledged the fantastic support of the club during the year, and provided a District update. Congratulations Shane! We look forward to another fun and fulfilling year at Mundingburra Rotary under your leadership.

01.01.2022 Congratulations Mundingburra!
