25.01.2022 The Assertive Vegan A waitor at a vegan restaurant was in a terrible predicament. He had customers that had long finished their meals and were having a jolly chin wag. Meanwhile a family was waiting patiently to eat. He didn't like this situation. He didn't want to have to interupt their conversation because they were laughing and having fun. How could he spoil that? He knew it was important and his job as leader of the floor to do something. ... He mustered the courage and approached the diners with a smile "How was your meal?" They responded with praise. "I'm glad you enjoyed it. We have a family here ready to enjoy as well so I'll let you say goodbyes and get the bill ready for you. Thank you for coming." He was nervous but they responded well. They realised time had gotten away from them and said their goodbyes. The family waiting got seated and had an enjoyable dinner together. The waitor overcame his hesitation and was assertive with his customers. He had a positive reaction and he was able to serve everyone on the day. The waitor is a winner.

19.01.2022 What has inspired you lately? I just caught the end of A River Runs Through It, a beautiful film. Watching Brad Pitt's character catch the big trout in the river is utter perfection. It is art. Sadly he passes shortly after, beaten to death by the butt of a pistol. His family finds consolation in that upon examination his hand was broken, his right hand, indicating that in his final hour he didn't go down without a fight. His brother and family try to make sense of his passin...g and find a way to come right in the end. This inspires me to fish as he fished in life. FIsh with passion and not let the current of the River get in the way of the catch. As Brad Pitt's character went down, at some point we all go down, I want to go down swinging and show some heart and fight in this life. A quote from the film. . . . . At that moment I knew, surely and clearly, that I was witnessing perfection. He stood before us, suspended above the earth, free from all its laws like a work of art, and I knew, just as surely and clearly, that life is not a work of art, and that the moment could not last. Who has inspired you? What has inspired you?
11.01.2022 Good show of assertiveness by Jerry Seinfeld. You don't have to hug someone if you don't want to and he refused in a polite way. No harm done and they later introduced properly, had a chat about it and I'm sure a bit of a laugh.
