23.01.2022 It's been a fairly busy time here at LMB web design. Here's the first of a couple of websites just launched. This one was referred to me by Wes Brunnen yonks ago. Synergy Business Advisers are based in Eltham and can look after your small business finances. Another easy and lovely client to deal with - I've been very lucky! They hired Mon from A Virtual Copywriting Monstar to do the words and they had professional photos taken - both make such a difference to the look and p...rofessionalism of a website. 20.01.2022 Sooooooo, a few weeks back I was contacted by a friend who works in the sport department at Channel 7 (I used to work at Channel 7 from the mid to late 90s). They needed someone to come help with admin til the end of October and she wondered if I'd be up for it. So I said YES! I've been a solo business owner working from home for the past 15 years and I love it, I just love it! The first 10 or so years as a virtual PA and the past 4 or 5 years doing web design. But I really n...eed a change and consistent income and what better place to work than with familiar people in my favourite field - sport. Anyway, I won't be taking on any web design projects until at least May. Why May? Well, it's a 4 day a week job but it'll be reduced to 2-3 days from May. So I'm not giving up my biz - just resting it temporarily. Job starts early January. We then head away on a long-planned holiday for 10 days and then starts again as soon as we get back. I'm excited! Now to update my wardrobe...pretty sure board shorts and thongs won't cut it... Lisa :) See more

14.01.2022 My love of tea knows no bounds. My new thing is to brew an English Breakfast teabag for 5 minutes then add an Earl Grey at the end. Helps when I'm at my desk all day. What's your tea of choice. And don't say coffee

12.01.2022 MailChimp News: I'm sure you've read by now that MailChimp are changing to a single opt-in from 31 October. If you provide a link in your final thank-you email to download an item, this will no longer occur. You can choose to remain with a double opt-in if you wish to provide the freeeebie (spelling intentional as FB dislikes the 'f' word (fr*e). Find the email MailChimp sent to you overnight, click the link they provided and once you've logged in, you'll be able to tick the... list you wish the double opt-in to remain. Otherwise, the single opt-in will automatically take place on 31 October, meaning they're added to your list immediately... This is actually a good thing as the double opt-in does rely on people confirming their subscription which sometimes ends up in junk or they just don't bother. Lisa :)
09.01.2022 For whatever reason, enquiries and sign-ups have been through the roof. Which is always excellent after a big holiday! If you want a website launched before Christmas then you're probably too late (depending on your requirements) but it's never too late to think about a fresh new start to the year. 07.01.2022 Not long now til we head off to sunnier parts than here. My brain is in explode areas - I'm working on 4 different websites and deadlines loom. So of course I hop on Unsplash to look at beautiful beach images. *eyeroll* by Syd Sujuaan on Unsplash. (Unsplash is a great source of images and yes you will get lost in a vortex...sorry). Lisa :)
07.01.2022 The second website to launch this week is for the gorgeous Melissa Leong, a career coach + strategist. Again, Melissa had professional photos taken which adds a touch of class to the look and feel of her site. There's still a few tweaks to be done, namely a blog post or two. Melissa offers a number of different packages which would suit any corporate woman looking for career advice if things are "not quite right" in your working world. This site was built with the usual WordP...ress and Genesis Framework along with a page builder called Beaver Builder. Shit name, great product! Congratulations Melissa! 05.01.2022 I love me a StudioPress theme. Not all of them, but I like this one. It's a different take on the full width banners/hero image we usually see for websites these days.

05.01.2022 Despite my Christmas and beach posts, I have been working really hard behind the scenes to get three websites up before we head away. One is for a stylist who, if I ever went back into the corporate world, would be the first person I would contact to build a collection of suitable clothes (there's seriously nothing she could do with my current crop!!). 03.01.2022 Hello, long time no post. Looks like this will be the last website I do for a few months. I'm joining the Ch 7 cricket production team for the summer of cricket. Starting 2 days in September along with the 2 days I'm currently doing in the Sport Dept, then full time cricket from 15 October til early March next year. YIKES. Therefore my web design business will be in hiatus from now til then. Speaking of cricket (and soccer and tennis), if you or your club need any nets, get on board this website! 03.01.2022 When FB's fun and games means your posts reach not many...(see bottom of pic). I've signed up to a pretty intense FB course which I'll do when I get back from holidays. I've done the first week - fascinating stuff. Anyone else finding FB a bit tricky? Lisa :)
03.01.2022 What Kelly said. Before I went away and before FB changed its algorithms (again) earlier this week, I signed up to do a quite intensive FB course but now I'm losing interest. I'll do it and I think it's worthwhile but you do have to pay some cash to reach a larger audience. Facts only (as my 13yo would say). Avagoodweekend! Lisa :)
