24.01.2022 A beautiful nightscape from on-site recently. Facing south including SE-SW this panorama shows the dark southern skies and our fantastic southern Milky Way.

22.01.2022 A recent photograph of the crescent Moon and Venus (admittedly a tiny spec in this wide angle photograph) at twilight from the Astro Observatories Western Australia site.

20.01.2022 Venus and Jupiter in twilight colours over the AOWA observatory tonight.

17.01.2022 What beautiful sunset colours tonight. A tiny bit of cloud on the horizon, but it's that litte bit of cloud that helps give some nice colours. #wheatbeltwa

16.01.2022 Here's a nice shot of the Milky Way overhead from on-site at Astro Observatories Western Australia. Taken short while back it shows Jupiter on the right of the Milky Way. The beautiful dark skies of the site made processing this image easy, with only brightness, contrast and saturation adjustments with no light gradient to remove.

15.01.2022 Well if we are forced to have cloud on occasion at Astro Observatories Western Australia, then the least it can do is look good! I mean, damn good! Sunset at the AOWA site, 19/April/2020.

14.01.2022 Astro Observatories Western Australia is a proud supporter of Astrobin.com. Astrobin has been such a fantastic resource for the amateur astronomy community for so many years.

14.01.2022 The Milky Way overhead at the AOWA site, from September.

12.01.2022 Excited to have a SQM Reader Pro installed thanks to a new customer install last week! SQM readings are hovering around the 21.68 - 21.78 on clear moonless nights, which is fantastic, world class darkness!

11.01.2022 It is fantastic to have a new customer install just a few weeks ago and now settled in, enjoying the dark skies of the AOWA site through their telescope as they please. Remote hosted and automated telescopes have come in to their own during this time of COVID-19 lockdown. No longer are you restricted by travel for astronomy, it can be done remote from our customers offices or homes. Remote astronomy installations have kept astronomy researchers, commercial space operations and keen amateur astronomers going during this time where otherwise activities might have ceased.

11.01.2022 First serious mapping run of a newly installed telescope, moved from outer suburban skies. Wow the difference in the number of stars visible in short exposures here under dark Wheatbelt skies compared to outer suburbia. So dark, so much contrast.

07.01.2022 Daytime temps have been quite hot lately but the last 24 hours have been quite nice, dead calm, below 40c and mostly clear. Tonight should be a cracker.

04.01.2022 Our operations continue as normal throughout COVID-19 restrictions. AOWA is well placed with a very high level of automation and pre-approved regional travel (allowing ongoing maintenance and in case of emergencies if they were to occur). This is a time of great advantage for remote and automated astronomy. More people are seeing the advantages and looking to move their astronomy equipment remote and have freedom to use it when they want from dark skies.

04.01.2022 MMMMmm more twilight goodness. Beautiful colors before the roof rolls off for the night.

03.01.2022 The newest telescope on-site is installed and operating well under the dark WA Wheatbelt skies. Moved from suburban Perth it can reach its full potential now, let the photography begin!

02.01.2022 You can now select Astro Observatories Western Australia as a remote hosting facility at which astronomical data is captured, on AstroBin.
