Crews used the skills they learnt from previous training nights which included setting up a decontamination zone, dressing and undressing in hazmat suits and providing medical care to the casualties. #AthelstoneCFS

08.01.2022 19 years ago today 343 fire fighters responded at a call and never came home. RIP to not only the firefighters and their families, but to everyone involved in that despicable act #AthelstoneCFS

06.01.2022 CFS has issued the first Total Fire Bans for the year. Whilst the bans aren’t for the Mt Lofty Ranges, they have been declared in the following Fire Ban Districts: Northwest Pastoral, West Coast, Eastern Eyre Peninsula, Lower Eyre Peninsula and Yorke Peninsula. This is a timely reminder that we all need to be prepared and planned for bushfires In making your plan, you should be aware that in high fire danger conditions, essential services including mains-fed electricity and ...water supply may not be available. For further information contact the Bushfire Information Hotline on 1800 362 361 or visit www.cfs.sa.gov.au

03.01.2022 With the next few days forecast to be hot, with elevated fire risk, SA Health have advised if you are in self-quarantine or self-isolation due to COVID-19, you can leave your home if you are in an emergency or your home is unsafe. You should try to get back into self-isolation as soon as you safely can. Review your Bushfire Survival Plan and consider adding additional face masks, hand sanitiser, and antibacterial wipes to your ‘Emergency Kit’ to protect yourself and your loved ones from COVID-19. Follow the SA Country Fire Service for emergency warnings and further advice.
