24.01.2022 We are so happy and proud to be able to assist in this young mans educational journey.

24.01.2022 A happy and successful first day at camp for our Year 6 students! Intermittent wifi, so no success uploading most of our photos, unfortunately We’ll look forward to being able to share some more pictures tomorrow

24.01.2022 Another great day at Indro, with students participating in the Writers Workshop, inspired and guided by author Angela Sunde. Members of the Leadership Team also got to go on site of the new build, to see the progress being made. Amazing, all round!

24.01.2022 We thank our families for their support, understanding and patience as we navigate through this time of concern and uncertainty. If you did not receive an email from school today, please email [email protected] to ensure your contact details are up to date, as we will continue to send information to families over coming days.

23.01.2022 A cracking couple of days in the pool for our students! Thank you to Mr Ryan, Miss Capper and Mr Davis for organising and overseeing the swimming days for everyone!

23.01.2022 Our students are always proud to support our community

20.01.2022 Tonight's the night!

19.01.2022 Our campers arrive home this afternoon. Please be aware that the buses will use the Taringa Parade Stop, Drop, Go zone, so that students and teachers can disembark safely. This means the zone may be busier than usual.

19.01.2022 The transition from Kindergarten to Prep is very important. The ISS Prep Team were very pleased to welcome colleagues from local kindergartens and Early Childhood Education Centres this afternoon. Over afternoon tea, they shared knowledge and planned further ways to work together.

19.01.2022 We are so proud of Patrick, Sofia, Mulan and Mackenzie. Receiving a medal in the ICAS competitions is a rare and admirable achievement. Congratulations to all families.

18.01.2022 Whilst the school year has drawn to an end, we couldnt help but share the celebration that was Year 6 Graduation last week. Congratulations, and best wishes to the graduates of 2019

17.01.2022 Today I had the pleasure of presenting Elaine with the Indooroopilly State School year 6 Dux award. Congratulations Elaine on this fantastic achievement!

17.01.2022 Our first Values Parade for 2021, and there were some very joyful little (and big!) people! Indi made an appearance, of course, and was excited to hear all about 'iMail' this year. Two of our new Prep students were the first to bring something for Indi (it was too big for his letter box). Our Citizenship Captains and Prefects did a really super job, running the show!

17.01.2022 Term 2 starts on Monday, and things will be a little different, with most students learning at home. Its new for all of us, and were all in it together

17.01.2022 Term 1 has concluded for all students. There is no expectation that students are undertaking learning at home this week. Our teachers are busy preparing for the possibility of remote learning in Term 2. We wish all of our families a safe and restful break.

17.01.2022 Please support our fantastic Future Problem Solving Teams by coming along the movie fundraiser night!

16.01.2022 Kindness, generosity and just plain goodness were truly demonstrated by the teams working on our new build today. The Wiley construction team and their sub contractors decided to have a whip around at their weekly breakfast, especially for our Mia. They collectively chipped in $540 which will be donated to 'Movement for Mia'. We are overwhelmed by this beautiful and thoughtful gesture. https://movementformia.org/miawilkinsontrust/

16.01.2022 Unfortunately, due to the air quality being rated 'Very Poor' in Brisbane today, we have had to cancel the Years 1 & 2 swimming carnival. Apologies for the disappointment and inconvenience.

16.01.2022 EPIC Graduation celebration for the 2020 Year 6 students! Our parent helpers pulled out all the stops to create a day of joy, fun and surprises for our students. The parent Guard of HONOUR was a wonderful inclusion. Thank you to all involved for making this such a memorable day. Details of how to download photos and videos from the day (via Smugmug) were included in the gift envelopes students received today

14.01.2022 We are so excited for Monday!!! The Years 5 & 6 students at school have made a welcome mural at the top courts, and Mrs Kelly's kindness ninjas have been putting up posters in different areas for our students. The students at school also had some lovely cards of appreciation for the teachers, who have all been working hard during this phase of learning @ home. Thank you to all of our families for the wonderful support you have continued to give over the past weeks. We are so grateful!

14.01.2022 We’re back! Reminder that families are invited to deliver their students’ book packs to their classroom between 2 and 4pm this Thursday or 7 and 9am this Friday. Adults please wear a mask.

13.01.2022 To reduce congestion on the first day of school, we have been able to negotiate times with our construction crews for families who wish to, to deliver their student resources this Friday between 7:00am - 8:30am or 1:00pm - 3:00pm. This is an opportunity to leave book packs or resources in your child's classroom. Classrooms will be unlocked, but teachers may not be present. Please ensure that the box or bag containing your child's belongings is clearly named. On Friday, clas...srooms will be only partially set up and teachers will be preparing for the start of school. Please exit quickly after delivering the resources. We ask you to be mindful of our two building sites by watching for vehicles and machinery, and only using pathways that are open. Please be aware that these are the only times available, and that alternative arrangements for drop-offs are not possible. See more

13.01.2022 We are so very disappointed to report that, over the weekend, a deliberately lit fire caused damage to one of our playgrounds. The police requested that we ask the school community to be vigilant, and keep an ear out for any talk about lighting fires on school grounds. If anyone has any information, they should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. https://www.crimestoppersqld.com.au/

13.01.2022 Our campers arrive home this afternoon. Please be aware that the buses will use the Taringa Parade ‘Stop, Drop, Go’ zone, so that students and teachers can disembark safely. This means the zone may be busier than usual.

12.01.2022 FROM THE PRINCIPAL, MR KEITH WARWICK: Dear Parent/Caregiver, today is the Swimming Carnival for students born in 2007-2009. We will continue to monitor the weather conditions throughout the day and make any adjustments to the carnival program if we feel necessary.

12.01.2022 We wish to advise our families that choir rehearsals, interschool sport and school assemblies have been cancelled until further notice. Unfortunately, our Folk Harmony Night concert and Student Council Badge presentation will also need to be rescheduled.

12.01.2022 Whilst our Harmony Folk Night will not go ahead this evening, we are still encouraging all of our students to wear either orange, or traditional / cultural dress on Friday, 20th March to celebrate Harmony Day, and the great cultural diversity that is ISS!

We are pleased to announce Aunabil, Angelina, Millie and Nicole’s team achieved 2nd place in Australia out of 21 competing teams! They will be representing Australia at 2021 International Future Problem Solving competition. We are so proud of them.

10.01.2022 A very busy couple of days for our Year 6 people! Stand-Up paddle boarding, kayaking, free swims, a dragon boat race, an amazing race challenge, as well as other activities to test their co-operative working skills. We're finishing off with a trivia night tonight, then off to the beach tomorrow before we head home. There will be some very tired campers on Friday evening!

10.01.2022 Just a reminder that our school tuckshop is closed on Thursday and Friday this week.

10.01.2022 Everyone has arrived safely, and the 2020 Kindilan adventures begin!

07.01.2022 A Special Message for Parents & Caregivers - Novel coronavirus 2019-nCoV Dear Parents & Caregivers As you may be aware, health authorities across the nation are currently responding to the emergence in Australia of the Coronavirus that has emanated from China.... I attach information from Queensland Health which includes advice that if children become sick (e.g. fever, flu-like symptoms, sore throat, headaches, breathing difficulties) after having recently had links to Wuhan or the Province of Hubei within China, or in contact with someone who is a confirmed case, they should present immediately to a doctor and not attend school while unwell. Our school always follows the advice of public health authorities in these circumstances and I would ask you to be especially aware of this current situation in the interest of public health. Thank you for your support in relation to this matter. Yours sincerely Debbie Spanner Principal Indooroopilly State School

03.01.2022 Dear Indooroopilly State School parents Hopefully you have seen the updated information from our Deputy Director General last night. This places more detail and clarity around the now required exclusions. Please refer to the three (3) dot points below, with particular attention to point three (3). ... anyone who has been in contact with any confirmed novel Coronavirus cases must self-isolate (self-isolation means staying at home and not accepting visitors) for 14 days following exposure; travellers who have visited Hubei Province of China need to self-isolate for 14 days after leaving Hubei Province; returned travellers who have visited China cannot attend school or childcare for 14 days after leaving China including Hong Kong (i.e. anyone who has returned to Australia since 15 January 2020). Please advise the school office if this is the case for your child. If this changes your situation please email your childs classroom teacher and copy in the office: [email protected] Thank you everyone for your support in helping keep our children safe. Kind Regards Deb Spanner Principal
