20.01.2022 "...I remember in 1955 when the Salk vaccine came out what an incredible event, what a miracle. In the 1950s, summer outbreaks in the USA caused tens of thousan...ds of cases pf polio, leaving hundreds paralysed or dead. 'Second only to the atomic bomb,' polio was 'the thing that Americans feared the most.' 5% of babies who got polio died and 30% of adults who got it died. This does not take into account the huge number who spent most of their lives in iron lungs or wheelchairs." (thank you Billie). Don't be that person... #vaccinate See more

19.01.2022 Environment our new area of focus! As most of you know by now, The Rotary Foundation Trustees and Rotary International Board of Directors have approved adding a new area of focus: supporting the environment. Supporting the environment joins peacebuilding and conflict prevention; disease prevention and treatment; water, sanitation, and hygiene; maternal and child health; basic education and literacy; and community economic development. Over the past several years, more than $18 million in Foundation global grant funding has gone towards environment-based projects. Now with this approved and added area of focus, grant applications for projects will be accepted from 1 July 2021. Extract from Rotary Public Image Newsletter.
