25.01.2022 If you didnt see the gut exhibition pre covid, this is worth a visit.

24.01.2022 Have you got a favourite physical therapy technique? Dry needling? Deep tissue? PNF? I have tried many techniques to release tight muscles over 20 plus years and Muscle Energy Technique (MET) is a favourite as it releases the muscle tension and leaves me feeling refreshed. Some deep tissue massages can leave me so beaten up I cant train the next day! For every hour of extra training, it’s also a good idea to increase your investment in recovery. But the key is to find... the right technique and frequency that works for you so you maximise your recovery and downtime. And if you are keen to try MET, find a practitioner with training and experience such as @surfcoastmassage. See more

23.01.2022 With under a month to go to @bicycle_network #peakschallengefallscreek its time to nail any loose ends with your nutrition. get plenty of nutrition and hydration practice in prior to race day. A long ride or run closest to race length is ideal. check what fuel options will be available on the course and practice using them even if you don’t plan on relying on them. This is a good insurance policy. try a mix of fuel sources ( liquid, solid and semi- liquid) t...o reduce the risk of side effects check your sweat rate and adjust your hydration to match develop a nutrition and hydration plan based on your individual needs - get help with this- it saves you heaps of time. remember sports nutrition research is only a guideline NOT a rule to stick to. There is NO point in shovelling in 70grams of carbs per hour if you regurgitate it during a race. Always adjust your nutrition to your needs, body size and personal experiences. PM me if you need help. A complementary cycling nutrition guide is provided with every appointment. Photo: #peakschallengefallscreek

21.01.2022 Sunday runs are never boring in the bush

18.01.2022 Recovery never felt so good. I am giving these Normatec Pulse pants a whirl after a big training weekend to clear out the rubbish in my legs. Call me soft, but a compression massage just seems like a more comfortable option over a cruel icebath . If you would like to give them a go, send me a PM.

18.01.2022 Adventures never disappoint.

15.01.2022 #Repost @uncommonwombat New HM PB just when I thought it was too late for that kind of thing! Huge thanks to my lovely, supportive family for putting up with this running stuff @mtt_mrtgnni @stefmart19. And an extra big shout out to the wonderful Kate Smyth @katesmythsportsnaturopath for her coaching wisdom!

15.01.2022 Resilience is like many things in life and sport- we need to keep continuously chipping away at it.

12.01.2022 Super excited to be trying out this Blue yeti tonight while we record A Dive into the Mind with Marcus Probert, (Psychologist) and John Valentan. We’ll be chatting about the role of fear in sports performance and the psychology of running a marathon. Looking forward to sharing it with you soon x

11.01.2022 Happy new year! I hope you’ve started the year with your best foot forward. If your training loads are starting to increase you may benefit from a few simple healthy snacks to keep you going. This muffin recipe (GF and DF) was crafted from seasonal ingredients from the garden and staples from the pantry. ... Ingredients 3 medium ripe bananas 1 large zucchini (1 cup grated) 3 large eggs 2 cups almond meal 1/2 cup GF self raising flour 1/2 tsp fine sea salt 1/2 baking soda 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp vanilla paste 2 tsp cinnamon 1/3 cup maple syrup 2 tsp coconut oil (melted) Method 1. Preheat oven to 160c 2. Grate zucchini and squish between paper towel till excess moisture is removed 3. Mix the mashed banana, maple syrup, coconut oil, eggs and vanilla. I use a food processor to save time. 4. In another bowl mix flour, almond meal, salt, cinnamon, baking powder and baking soda. 5. Either add dry mix to food processor with wet ingredients and add zucchini or add to the other bowl and mix by hand. 6. Poor mix into muffin trays (I used easy to clean silicone ones) 7. If presentation matters to you, slice some extra banana on the top of each muffin. 8. Bake for 20 mins or until golden brown. Leave to cool before turning onto a wire rack. 9. Store in the fridge or freezer. 10. These are great to tuck into your back pocket for long rides or to have in the car as a post run snack with a 3:1 carb to protein ratio! A batch only lasted 24 hours in my household but I eat a lot . See more

05.01.2022 It’s not going to be the Xmas I was expecting with my family in Sydney tomorrow. Whilst I appreciate its necessary it still sucks having a border and invisible barriers between us. The beautiful climb up my favourite mountain was the good that comes out of every situation. Happy Xmas to you and your loved ones . I hope you feel the love of those you hold closest to your heart even if you can’t be together in person X

04.01.2022 One of the benefits of spending more time at home. I may be in lockdown but I can still go to my happy place. This is today’s harvest from my backyard garden. It is nothing fancy but in just 18 months I’ve converted the space into an edible and medicinal garden that looks after my body and soul.
