17.01.2022 UPDATE from AthleteStar: Following the most recent Government announcements this morning, we just wanted to let all our customers know that we are continuing to do all the safe things to make sure our studio remains clean and safe. We are focussing on constant cleaning and disinfecting efforts across all the equipment being used including wiping down doors & floors following sessions. Again, we are fortunate our classes are small and fully supervised which means we only ever ...have 20-30 people on the premises at any given time. This allows us to easily and effectively monitor and control access. Currently classes will be running as normal. Of course we will be adhering to any changes set by the authorities should they be announced. Washing hands thoroughly pre and post gym sessions are a MUST and if you're not feeling well, please be respectful and avoid coming to the gym. Remember YOUR TOWEL, feel free to bring your own gloves and wipes or we have extra wipes placed around the gym to use. We also have extra inner gloves for boxing which will be handed out and washed after use. It's great to see you all attending with smiling faces doing what you love to do. This positive action is what keeps the mind and body prepared for anything. Let's hope we can keep these classes going and help us all get through these uncertain times. So stay healthy, be safe, keep calm and positive & enjoy what we have!! from all at AthleteStar #communitygympower

16.01.2022 Great job from my morning gals to my night crew way too much fun tonight they were doing cartwheels from the joy of the workout

15.01.2022 COVID UPDATE: from AthleteStar Hey AthleteStar team, great to hear about all of you who are keeping up the fitness online. It's encouraging to see things going in the right direction, let's hope it keeps improving and we will update you if/when we can about classes resuming. Keep positive and keep as active as you can to avoid putting on those COVID CALORIES.... Here are some healthy tips to help Swap the cakes, muffins and cookies for fruit, try some different fruits you have never tried before & make platters to mix it up and look like fun to eat Use avocado instead of butter Avocado & eggs on toast for brekky yum!! https://gimmedelicious.com/how-to-make-the-best-avocado-to/ If you're baking a treat, boost the fibre by adding oats to a cookie or muffin recipe and use natural yoghurt instead of cream. Add some veg like grated pumpkin or carrot to cakes or muffins. Remember baking cakes is a treat so don't indulge too much! Take it easy on takeaways We know it's tempting (and very easy) to cosy up on the couch and order some takeaway from UberEATS or Menulog. An average takeaway meal provides around 700-1000 calories, which is almost half of an adult’s average daily energy intake. Plan ahead, the day before, and have healthy options prepared & ready, so you’re not making an unhealthy decision last minute when you’re hungry. And try to limit takeaway to a maximum of once per week, choose healthier options that contain vegetables or salad and say no to up-sizing! Don’t eat out of the bag Snack and comfort food sales are soaring as people stay at home. Eating snacks straight out of the packet is a recipe for overeating. Instead, try portioning out your snacks into a small bowl or container. Aim to swap processed, packaged snacks such as chips and biscuits for healthier options like yoghurt, nuts, fruit or popcorn. Think twice about what you’re drinking Juice, soft drinks, flavoured milks and alcohol all contribute excess calories and if consumed regularly can contribute to those extra kilos creeping on. Make sure you’re aware of any liquid calories slipping into your diet and instead swap to water, soda water, tea or black coffee. Keep active Aim to prioritise movement schedule it in as a necessary part of your day and find activities that you enjoy. Exercise is essential for good mental health, as well as keeping those extra kilos off! Gary's COVID CRUSHER - ***DRINK WATER AS OFTEN AS YOU CAN & DON'T EAT AFTER YOUR DINNER*** RUG UP & TAKE A BRISK WALK OR JOG WHEN YOU CAN So stay healthy, be safe, keep calm and positive & enjoy what we have!! from all at AthleteStar #onthewayback

08.01.2022 Best way to start the weekend

08.01.2022 Coronavirus UPDATE from AthleteStar: We just wanted to let all our customers know that we are doing everything possible to make sure our studio remains clean and coronavirus-free. This means amping up cleaning and disinfecting efforts and wiping down as much as possible throughout the day. We are fortunate our classes are fully supervised and have designated times where bookings are required to attend. This means we are totally aware of who, where and when clients are using o...ur gym and equipment. This helps us to monitor and control good cleaning practices to ensure the environment is as healthy as possible for all to use. We have a great family of clients and we are sure you will all work hard with us to ensure our gym is safe to continue doing what you love! Most importantly, if you're not feeling well, stay home, rest and give yourself time to recover fully. Prevention is the Best Cure! If we all look after each other, there is no reason why we can't continue to enjoy working out together!! #teamwork #preventionisthebestcure

07.01.2022 Hi AthleteStar Team, thanks for all your positive feedback. We are excited to slowly and carefully bring back the AthleteStar classes starting on Monday 22 June with 4 classes for the week. ------------------------------------ Monday Night: 6.30pm (BoxStar with Trish - 22 June) ... ------------------------------------ Wednesday Morning: 9.30am (BoxStar with Trish - 24 June) ------------------------------------ Wednesday Night: 6.30pm (X-Train Circuit with Ty & Gaz - 24 June) ------------------------------------ Friday Morning: 9.30am (X-Core with Trish - 26 June) ------------------------------------ You can book casual or all access passes online through the website from Tuesday 16 June. Victorian Government social distancing rules & guidelines for indoor gyms will be strictly enforced. The best thing we can do is care about each other and this is super important as we will all need to be extra aware of hygiene & caring for our fellow workout friends. We are lucky to be a super large venue with multiple rooms who have total control over who is entering and using our facility. This will be monitored closely and all equipment will be cleaned thoroughly after every use. We MUST ask you DO NOT under any circumstances attend if you have recently had any flu type symptoms or feel unwell. We also must stress there are to be NO children or "extra" guests as we have strict rules to follow around who is attending and the numbers we can have in particular spaces are restricted. Please also bring your own personal items such as towels & drink bottles. We will have multiple sanitising stations and be consistently monitoring ALL visitors to the premises. We will be advising further before the sessions of any new rules & guidelines to help keep us all healthy and able to continue. Great to be back!!! Look forward to seeing you all soon. www.AthleteStar.com.au
