01.01.2022 Just in case you thought we lost our passion for Italys most loved destinations. We most definitely have not! And would you agree that returning to a favourite place will always offer you a new experience? I couldnt help but to share this unique and personable touring itinerary. Taking you to the small village of Corniglia in the Cinqueterre.. this particular village is set above sea level and less renown or explored... there is a reason why.. see below! However!! I...t is surrounded by terraces and vineyards and offers breathtaking views that will steal anyones heart. Id highly recommend trekking between the villages for a memorable experience where no doubt you will be greeted by the locals. The itinerary below has been designed to see the area with different eyes and at a relaxed pace to take it all in. Get to know the area by walking along the roads less traveled in search of new emotions. Avoid the crowd (aka tourists ) EXPLORE CORNIGLIA IN THE CINQUETERRE.. Meet with our local tour guide at La Spezia station and departure by train to Manarola. Guided tour of the village and walk through the vineyards along the path that goes around Manarola. Visit the small village of Corniglia, the smallest of the area located on the top of a rock. We will reach it by train. Remember, however, that from the train station on foot along the road, you will have to climb 350 steps into the village. But the effort will be amply repaid! Arriving in the town the atmosphere is always pleasant, the village is less crowded than the others and visitors are mostly trekkers who like to walk along the paths of the Cinque Terre National Park. In the afternoon by train you will reach Monterosso, and after the guided tour of the village, take the public boat to return to La Spezia. Transfer with the public boat services over to Portovenere is another unique compliment to take in the rugged and natural coastline - The Gulf of Poets

01.01.2022 Meet Rosina and Gaetano from Sicilia. Both well in their 90s and making this same Christmas biscuit from their village for over 70 years! They were eager to share the recipe handed down the generations and all stirred (by hand ) and handled with great care. It took me time to perfect Rosina’s style and her careful eye always caught the F.. fails.. but! the recipe and technique will remain cherished for a lifetime. ... The what remains is what makes a Real good holiday - its about real experiences real food real moments REAL people. As the world starts to look brighter I am savouring the cultural delights learning to enjoy more with the heart but hopeful for travel cooking feasting exploring more beyond the shores What are you most looking forward to ?
