21.01.2022 Mr Shaun House took his Y9 aqua class on excursion to Atkinson Aquaculture today and were treated to a very informative tour from owner, Leigh Atkinson. They we...re able to view his fish which are currently in all life stages, from fertilised eggs, through to 6kg+ brood stock. Leigh Atkinson built this farm and hatchery from scratch and he's now running at full capacity producing 10 tonnes of rainbow trout a year. "I had the knowledge, I never really had the money, but we made it work." He also stocks farm dams around Tasmania for private land owners and recreational fisherman. "We like to put a few big ones in there to surprise the kids."
