25.01.2022 Print orders for my Divine Intervention exhibition at Kay Brothers Winery will begin to flow to Atkins Pro Lab this coming week. It's probably the most fun and ...fraught exercise a photographer undertakes and I'm looking forward to working with their brilliant print technician, David. Atkins Pro Lab, along with St Peter's Cathedral, have provided sponsorship and support for this exhibition, without which it would not have been possible. A big thanks to Paul Atkins on that front. One of the industry's greats. Fun fact: the exhibition title is not a proclamation of a miracle. "Divine" refers to the magnificent sound of a pipe organ in full flight; "Intervention" pays respects to the small army of people who intervened to protect the organ from further decay and restore it to its full glory, led by the Very Reverend Frank Nelson, Dean. You know, having once been a newspaper sub-editor, I can't resist a play on a popular phrase to bring attention to an event. Sosumi. ;) The image shown is probably my favourite of the whole series. Apart from the touching synchronicity of two voices coincidentally inhabiting the same space, there's an elegant combination of shapes and textures that is sumptuous to look at. Can't wait to see how David commits this to print. #ShimmerFestival #OnkaparingaArts

Our main concern is 120film where the leading edge of the backing paper is sealed with a lick, then pressed down to stick. Sorry if this slows things down, but the protection of our crew and clients is paramount.

15.01.2022 Hi friends, we've had to make another change to our film processing schedule due to the Covid19 situation: We have moved processing of all film types to Fridays, therefore film received by close of business Tuesday will be processed on Friday. This is in response to the reduced volume of film to be processed, to allow for the three day quarantine, and to minimise the amount of people in the building.... Thank you!

10.01.2022 Hey! The South Australian Government has ordered a 6 day (4 working days) mandatory shutdown of all non essential businesses from midnight tonight. We have been... able to avoid any shutdown until now. However, we are really happy we are shutting down so early to avoid anything worse further down the track. As Paul and I live above the business we will be working as much as we can to process urgent orders and we have arranged for Australia Post to still pick up from us daily. We have a number of staff working from home to get ahead for when we return and also processing orders and doing support. We will be answering calls and emails as much as we can. Given that the closure, at this point, is only for four actual working days, we hope the disruption will be minimal. We know this may cause some distress, but keeping this in perspective is important. We envisage it will be a minor blip in production and critically, it will reduce the risk of any further restrictions going forward or closer to Christmas. Please let us know if there’s anything at all we can do to help with your worries about work that will be due during this time and we will do our best to get it out to you. Your support for our little business is critical to our success and we are very grateful. 04.01.2022 Calling all 14 to 25 year olds who love to take photographs to apply now to be part of the Shoot the South team. Applications close on 31 July. 'SHOOT the SOUTH’ will be a series of Photo Essays of Onkaparinga life in 2020 from a young person’s viewpoint. The shoot will take place during the month of Shimmer, and be online all month, finishing with a major public event on the last weekend. Prior to the shoot we will hold a series of documentary photography Master Classes for the successful applicants.
