24.01.2022 Lovely to present the swimming trophies to our age champions this morning. New records set by Thomas, Campbell, Erika and Sophie - great swimming kids! Overall winning house for the day was ALDRIN! Well done to all the kids for their wonderful efforts last Friday - it was such a fun day.

24.01.2022 Such a fun day watching Armstrong vs Aldrin at our interhouse swimming carnival. Lots of fantastic swimming from the kids and great cheering from the houses. So many of our families there to support the day - thanks for taking the time to join us. Thanks to the P&C ladies for running the canteen and to Guy and Georgie for your official jobs. Parents and staff couldn't match the past students in the final relay race, but we did beat the Year 6's - there's a photo to prove it! Sorry we couldn't present the trophies due to the storm, but we will look forward to doing it first thing Monday morning.

24.01.2022 What a special night celebrating our Year 6 students' graduation - we are so proud of them! Some amazing personalised gifts for each of the students and such a fun time looking back over their journeys at Augathella State School. Thanks to the parents who organised and helped with the decorating - the hall looked amazing! A beautiful meal too - thanks Kym. Only 4 more school days left for these kids before they hit high school...we wish them all the best!

23.01.2022 In the space of a week, we went from sand to rubber softfall under the play gyms. It looks terrific and the kids are loving it!

22.01.2022 This Friday 22 May is P&C Day. We would like to send a big shout out to our dedicated group of parents, community members and volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make our school a better place for all of our students. We would like to say thank you for the generous time, effort and support you give to our school P&C association.

22.01.2022 On Monday 11 May 2020, Kindy, Prep and Year 1 students will return to their state school and kindergarten, joining children of essential workers, vulnerable children and children in designated Indigenous communities. All other students will continue to learn at home. If low transmission rates continue, students in Years 2 6 will return to school from Monday 25 May. The department has partnered with the Channel seven, Nine and 10 networks to broadcast three educational TV programs to support home-based learning for students across Queensland. Check out the TV guide to see when learning@home TV, reading @home TV and coding@home TV will be coming to your screen. The first broadcast is today.

22.01.2022 A great day at school with students standing together to say No Way! to bullying. All the classes worked through a variety of activities as they discussed strategies to help keep themselves and their friends safe.

21.01.2022 Some time spent today remembering all the men and women who have served our country.As Anzac Day 2020 approaches, we continue to be grateful for the opportunities and privileges that we enjoy due to the sacrifices made by our service men and women. This year, we are missing our visiting Veterans, but the students have been busy letting them know that they are in our thoughts. Lest We Forget.

20.01.2022 Hoping lots of our families will be able to join us tomorrow morning for our Jump Off day. We hope to start around 9am. Student council are providing fruit break and students can dress in red to show off their healthy hearts! Cant wait to celebrate all the great fundraising and amazing new skipping skills that the kids have mastered. See you then!

18.01.2022 What a morning! The kids did a great job walking safely to school - thanks Lachlan, our adopt-a-cop for leading the way. We have also raised $150 by dressing in our footy colours and supporting childhood cancer.

17.01.2022 The department has partnered with Channel Nine to deliver reading@home TV to support language and literacy development for children in kindergarten to Year 3. In collaboration with the Reading Centre, the program will feature Reading Coaches and local authors, to read books aloud and facilitate interactive learning experiences. reading@home TV will air on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8.309.00am on Channel 9Go , commencing on Tuesday 5 May. Catch-up episodes will be available on the departments Youtube channel as a useful resource for teachers, parents and students.

15.01.2022 World Teachers Day is celebrated in Queensland this Friday. We said thanks to our amazing teachers this week for all the work they do to support our students. The kids did a great job handwriting messages of thanks to each of their teachers. Liz, Kara, Jess and Harry - we are lucky to have you working in our school. HAPPY WORLD TEACHERS DAY!

15.01.2022 Dont forget its National Pyjama Day this Friday. Students can support children living in care by wearing their pyjamas to school and making a GOLD COIN DONATION. Hope youve all got some warm slippers and dressing gowns to wear!

14.01.2022 Book Week starts tomorrow with our Author in Residence visit by Dr Cameron Stelzer. Don't forget to return your book order form to the school tomorrow if you are wanting to purchase any of Cameron's books - some great titles to choose from and might even tick off some of the Christmas shopping! (The form was emailed out with the newsletter last week).

14.01.2022 How lucky were we to have Brenda and Sharon from Pathways to Resilience visit us today. They delivered Brain Talks to all of our students and then worked with parents and staff to introduce us to some basic neuroscience. So many practical ideas were shared that will help us regulate, relate and reason with our special young people. Thanks to all our parents who were able to join us for the afternoon.

14.01.2022 Denim was in last Friday as students supported Jeans for Genes day. $150 was donated to the Childrens Medical Research Institute to help find cures for childhood genetic diseases. Well done kids - a great cause to support!

12.01.2022 The Year 1s have been very busy in Science investigating materials and their uses. They designed boats and we had lots of fun testing them to see how many marbles they could hold. Well done kids on some creative work!

10.01.2022 A great experience for our students last Monday when we had our Author in Residence visit - Dr Cameron ran 2 terrific workshops for the kids that highlighted the skills that go with illustrating book characters. We are very grateful for all of their work and the words of thanks that the students wrote were a special personal touch. 05.01.2022 Our gardens are looking terrific thanks to all the hard work that Reb Price has been putting into them. Although Anzac Day will not be the same without our visiting Veterans, our memorial garden has had a makeover, complete with Gallipoli rosemary in the pots. Thanks Reb for making our school grounds such a great place to come into each day!

02.01.2022 Get ready for some bling! The Ellangowan Ensemble took out gold at Fridays Performing Arts Festival in Charleville and the Musical Meatants won bronze. Congratulations to all of the students on their terrific performances and a special thank you to Mr Mulhall for all of his work preparing the groups. Well done musicians!
