24.01.2022 Its been 5 days since our final night of the boy my father raised and an appreciation post is long over due. Lets star from the beginning. 6 months ago. 24.01.2022 Chris- Isaac Troisi Chris has had a lot of life experience. Serving in the army at a young age he learnt a lot about the struggles of life and the human psyche. After leaving the army he fell into a deep depression and turned to alcohol. Having no direction in his own life he has turned to take it out on his wife Gwen and his own child Taylor.

21.01.2022 Its super amazing to have the support of the Zahra Foundation Australia and Arman Abrahimzadeh in doing the show. At the end of the day, this show is to spread awareness and start conversations around domestic and family violence, having their support literally means SO much to us and we are really looking forwards to sharing this journey with them.

20.01.2022 Taylor- played by Jacob Roneberg. The boy my father raised is Taylors story. Growing up in a household clouded by domestic violence it is all he knows. Taylor is going through high school, struggling with the man hes becoming, but not sure how to change him self and become a better person. Will he choose his father or his future? 14+, violent themes, strong domestic violence triggers.

19.01.2022 August Stone Theatre Company did an excellent job of showing domestic violence for what it is; an all-consuming cycle that children become trapped in once exposed to it, but one that they can also break out of in their debut play The Boy My Father Raised.

18.01.2022 Cassie- played by Tabitha McLean - Cassie is Taylors girlfriend who is quite a bubbly, outgoing person. She really enjoys reading about heroes in books and hopes one day that she can be one. She believes she could be the hero in Taylors life and help him. CONTENT WARNING: deals with domestic violence, violence, alcoholism and other very confronting subjects. Suitable for 14+

16.01.2022 Augusts new show is well and truly on the way. Venues are yet to be confirmed but you can expect The Boy My Father Raised to be showing in the fringe next year. Taylors earliest memory is that of his mother lying cold on the ground, his father standing over them. He, like many other Australian children, has grown up in a household clouded with domestic violence and addiction. Addiction to alcohol, addiction to self-pity and addiction to second chances. Evidence proves that ...those who grow up in an abusive household are more likely to be abusive themselves, but why and how? As Taylor tumbles through his schooling life, he struggles to find himself, weighed down by the troubles of his home life that constantly rests in his mind. The Boy My Father Raised shows the battle between what is known and what is wanted. It chronicles the struggles of finding yourself and survival when all the odds are against you. Will Taylor be able to break the stereotype and prove that we are not what we are destined for? Or will he become just another statistic, another forgotten boy, in the so called tragic stories of modern Australia. See more

13.01.2022 super amazing to have @armani.zadeh come to our rehearsal on Wednesday! In early 2019 we heard about Armans story and it was ultimately the inspiration behind The Boy My Father Raised. Through this show we want to create conversations around and bring awareness to domestic violence. Its such a huge and relevant issue in Australia and to have Arman and the @zahra_foundation s support in the show literally means so much to us xxx. If you havent got your tickets yet theres a link in the bio. Please come along and help to spread the word about domestic violence

01.01.2022 Cal- played by Angus Moffatt - Cal is Taylors best mate and that means a lot to him. Hes got his own problems going on in his life, but hell always swallow that and put on a brave face for Taylor, even if he doesnt fully know how to really help him. He might seem like a pretty laid back bloke to a lot of people, but underneath that he cares deeply and genuinely worries for people.
