20.01.2022 The team absolutely licked the stamp and sent it today. We managed to be the first team to complete scrutineering, after checking off Low and High voltage system checks, the mechanical scrutineering, the tilt test and the nerve-racking rain test. Tomorrow is the static events, with design judging and our business presentation, before on track activities begin on Saturday!

19.01.2022 A massive thanks to Energus Power Solutions, Ltd. for supplying our recently arrived battery cells for the second year running! In the current rebuild of the car we plan to use the 6 cell packs to achieve significant weight reduction for our accumulators. In comparison to the 8 cell packs from 2018, this should be a great improvement.... 15.01.2022 Another year of Formula SAE - Australasia has been run and won, and what a year it was! Highlights include matching the teams best overall result and being painfully close to an overall podium, scoring our first ever dynamic event podium with an EV and first since 2013 with third in efficiency, claiming second place in the Cost event, and completing all dynamic events and achieving the teams primary goal. Congratulations to the overall podium finishers in EV Monash Motorsp...ort, UQ Racing Formula SAE Team, UCM - University of Canterbury Motorsport, and to the whole EV field for making it such a competitive and exciting year! Also, a shoutout to fellow SA legends University of South Australia Motorsport for winning the Harry Watson award for Innovation! 04.01.2022 I'm Damien, AUMT's Business Manager for 2020. I am a third-year student doing a double degree in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science, and 2020 marks my third year being involved with the team. In that time I have been involved with a variety of roles. In late 2018 I developed the charging system to aid in our transition to running an electric vehicle while supporting the engineering team as an assistant engineering manager. In 2019 I stepped into the role of Vehicle D...ynamics Subsystem Leader, which was primarily focused on guiding the subsystem with testing, modelling, and validating the performance of the suspension kinematics, dampers, wheels, and tyres, in addition to building up and expanding our VD knowledge. In stepping into the Business Manager role I have become involved with blending my technical knowledge of the project with the broader team goals and requirements. This has included communicating timely and ongoing updates to key sponsors and stakeholders as we have navigated our way through the year, as well as preparing documentation and media to support ongoing sponsor negotiations. This has also seen me take a key role in long term strategic planning and budget management decisions to ensure the long term success of AUMT. Throughout my time being a part of the team, I have experienced so many great moments. These include long car rides to competitions with friends, afternoons spent getting the car ready for an upcoming track day or working collaboratively to break down and analyse new material, all mixed with a healthy sense of humor that makes it worth spending so much time with my teammates. I look forward to seeing how our 2020 / 2021 car progresses, and I look forward to seeing the new testing and data acquisition methodologies we have been working on get put into action!
