23.01.2022 Today there was a clear highlight and it appeared in the form of baby dolls and clothes and beds and bassinets after rest time. The children were super excited to get started in the experience, role playing by singing the best lullabies to them, clothing them and pretending to feed them. Making their bunk beds was a fun challenge and we were able to see these constructed numerous times so that everyone could have a turn to set up the tricky frame. All of a sudden, the bunk frame was a jail, the babies had committed offences and were trapped, except for the favourite ones which didnt deserve jail and the jail was then subjected to an explosive earthquake...

18.01.2022 Oooh this daaaaay! Part 1: Theres a substantial amount of fun videos and photos so Ill make 2 posts because OMG this morning we went a bit crazy! Here are the videos. First, we got ready in our jackets and boots! Then, we went outside to find muddy puddles. On realising there wasnt many, we made our own and the rest is a bit of a blur to me lol
17.01.2022 Times are tough at Aunty Clairs Family Day Care...today our innovative friend sold all the bikes at his new Bike Shop Business for $10 each to his customers, but dont worry, its not that tough because then he told me he is going to use the money to buy ice cream!
17.01.2022 Rain Rain Rain! We dont mind, theres plenty to do inside - puzzles and threading for a start!
17.01.2022 A picture collage at Aunty Clairs Family Day Care says a thousand words and every day is a new adventure! Check out our friends making cool hanging craft sun catches, collecting eggs and playing with our cheeky lil chickens that escaped their pen (and we had to fix the fence!), examining things, building, learning together and alone, counting, sharing, role playing picnics with babies, outdoor digging and bubbles, OF COOOURSE there was more BUBBLES!! Have a great weekend!
17.01.2022 Happy Early Childhood Educators Day to me
16.01.2022 Dominos are traditionally for numbers and matching, (or lining up and tipping over) but TODAY they form letters and patterns and we explored the shapes of the curves and straight lines on the foam mat, moving the dominos from letter to letter to see how they would fit differently in each letter. Learning letters, doesn't always mean we are holding a pencil
16.01.2022 And now....we wash! After yesterdays muddy shinanigans the children were just as excited to use the warm bubble water and washers to scrub down the lil shop house, squeezing the cloths with bubbles smooshing all up their arms! With amazing enthusiasm and attention to the tiniest dirty detail, the shop was ready to sell ice cream again in no time!
16.01.2022 Some of our very fun (and funny!) times at Aunty Clairs Family Day Care!
15.01.2022 Robot dancers beep bop beep bop
15.01.2022 Happening now - amazing concentration and surprisingly quiet group exploration of fine motor and cognitive experiences!
14.01.2022 Please excuse the delay in fun weekly pics of late, here are a few posts to catch you up... Remember the bike shop where my friends were selling my bikes for $10, well times have gotten worse as now he is selling off the trucks too and for $80 Shiiish! What a stitch up
14.01.2022 As you can see by this fantastic and fun-filled weekly recap of our busy time at Aunty Clairs Family Day Care, we were muuuch too busy playing and learning through play to have any dramas. So, we had the best care-free time playing and didnt give Clair pretty much hardly any dramas whatsoever ;) love our lil gang of no drama llamas and looking forward to next week already! Have a great weekend everyone!!
14.01.2022 The Darlings have been a little Ooshie crazy lately, not making a set or collecting and swapping but rather, using them in the doll house, making houses with the blocks for them, creating a Halloween spider and Ooshie village (see previous post!) And most recently, using them as props for songs! So cute! Even more cute is that both the Ooshies and Stikeez are collectively known as nothing other than "Squishies" at Aunty Clair's Family Day
12.01.2022 Check out some pics of our yoga-sesh yesterday, not to be confused with our regular yogurt-seshes, which is also fun and may require just as much balance The children used their bodies to stretch, balance and breathe while following directions from the Yoga Instructor (ok it was just me), demonstrating attention to detail, excellent listening and observing, great positivity and willingness to try when it was tricky and had a lovely time pretending to be swans, frogs, trees and stalks
11.01.2022 This is us, a small peek into family time on the weekend doing family things in Oberon. Oli was excited to learn how to use the iPads camera and thrilled to see his first snow and we had fun making Ricky the snowman and then throwing it at each others butts! (Olis idea of course!)
10.01.2022 OMG BUUUUBBBLEEES! Bubbles everywhere and so much JOY! These friends loved figuring out the best techniques to blow and wave the bubbles out of the wands, which were conveniently tapped to a pole ;) and they were getting so excited to be able to make plenty of bubbles to chase and pop in the afternoon sun "Lets do bubbles every day! " - Oli "Yeeeeaaaahhh!" - Everyone else
10.01.2022 Robot power up! loooove this game!
10.01.2022 Last week there was endless fun to be had with this box! It was a shop, a tunnel, a train bridge, the small bikes fit through it so it was a car wash, a hang out zone and a bed...just to name a few! One thing for sure though was that it definitely encouraged taking turns, using our words and sharing
09.01.2022 Its been a week of gardening, play dough with our special scissors, bikes and ball games, puzzles, threading and looking at the letters in our names as well as plenty of fun group discussions and construction with sharing, turn taking, using our words and the lot! ...we have been a busy bunch!
08.01.2022 What a fun week we have had for our first week back with our friends (post-pandemic) We are getting to know each other again and our new friend too! We are just getting in to a nice routine and learning where everything is, how to use our words and look after our own things as well as developing independence by putting lunch boxes and bottles in fridge, washing hands (lots!), asking for help, packing up after ourselves and much more. We are also getting to know favou...rites of games, songs, toys, foods and stories as well as our dislikes! Thats important too! We have also started looking at the letters in our name (again) and how they are spelled. Lastly, ask your darling how we say finished! In Auslan and you may be surprised (Watch this space ;)) We are growing and learning new things every day at Aunty Clairs Family Day Care! See more
07.01.2022 Basketball!!! Look at this! I bought this 2 weeks ago when it was raining all week and man it was definitely worth the dollarbucks spent! The children have been playing almost EVERY day since and we have had it both inside and out when the weather has been beautiful. They are practicing hand eye coordination, in fact, although its a very physical activity exercising gross motor muscles, its also a very mathematical and scientific challenge where the children need to judge and assess the distance, direction, speed and weight of the ball to get it into the net...not to mention Gravity!! Hehe We love learning through play!
07.01.2022 Aunty Clairs Family Day Care is proud to announce a BUSINESS-IVERSARY! We are 4 years Old today!! I opened Aunty Clairs Family Day Care when our Son, Oli was 4 months old so I could continue to work in the Child Care industry which is my passion, and build a new beginning around caring for our beautiful baby. We have been through many ups and downs in business but above all else, I have loved being a special part of our families lives! Your darling children have... literally been the inspiration to business and welcoming new friends in to Olis life has been a personal joy for Girish and I. So thank you to all the families past and present, that have been a part of our lives. Even the challenges have helped me to grow as a person and in business. I appreciate all the support I have had over the past 4 years from both the Scheme Im registered with All Areas Family Day Care and those closest to me who have been there when I needed them most, you know who you are ;)
06.01.2022 Rainy days inside plays
06.01.2022 Here is a collection of our fantastic Halloween adventures! We have been SO busy with making ghost toast, collage pumpkins and ghosts, skeletons with the cutest lil drawn faces by the children, dressing up and getting Halloween tats all over our arms and legs! Also check out our extensive layered Halloween jelly experience where we all took turns to pour the cooled jelly into Halloween moulds and then add the eyes, leave to set, repeat with cooled jelly 3 more times for the layers and then FINAAAAALLY devoured that spooky wobbly treat!
05.01.2022 Yesterdays paintings! What are we going to do with these little stickez that are so clean and useless...well painting of course!
05.01.2022 Rainy days inside picnic
04.01.2022 Oooh! How did I forget this horridly creepy Halloween spider game that the children played enthusiastically with blocks and Ooshies for over half hour - Eeeeeek! See previous post for all our OTHER Halloween adventures!
04.01.2022 Play Dough Time! Using various items in play dough encourages children to extend on their imagination and learn through play while refining their fine motor skills by strengthening the small muscles in the hands to assist with intricate tasks like threading and writing in future. As well as interesting discussions, sharing equipment and ideas and taking turns in conversation, the children are also learning mathematical concepts by pressing and rolling items in to the play dou...gh to make patterns, prints and shapes! Within this experience the role play was extensive with pretend finger painting, hiding bugs in play dough, guess whats in my play dough? game, daddy finger song with play dough puppets, play dough caves, monsters with lots of eyes, rocks as more and more and more eyes!, "what are you making?" And "can I have a turn of that please?" , tiny tweezers tweezing, play dough spider house, lots of quite solitary play and concentration, bug prints, magical animals and their foods, play dough stick balancing ...and much more!
03.01.2022 This was our splashy Monday outdoors. It was hot and nice and we certainly made the most of it in the bubble water buckets (Yes they are upside down stepping stones from Kmart) we made bubbles with our hands, made bubble beards and then threw bouncy balls in the water to get the biggest bubble splash possible! Of course there was bike riding too and then a beautiful inside pretend picnic.
03.01.2022 Oooh this daaaaay! Part 2: Theres a substantial amount of fun videos and photos so Ill make 2 posts because OMG this morning we went a bit crazy! Here are the PHOTOS. First, we got ready in our jackets and boots! Then, we went outside to find muddy puddles. On realising there wasnt many, we made our own and the rest is a bit of a blur to me lol
03.01.2022 Omg watch this space! Cant wait to show you what we have been up to today!
01.01.2022 Here are our friends exploring their names! We spend the day learning through play and the routine and activities are for the most part, guided by the childrens choices and interests. Once a Teacher guided experience is introduced and the children jump at the chance to learn and practice, it becomes an interest based activity as well, where the focus is less on completing a task but instead, the children enjoy playing writing their names. This is fantastic for their dev...elopment as children learn more effectively when they are interested. First we discussed our letters and how to hold textas, then put all the laminated pages out for the children to choose from. Initially they all chose their own names and after that, had a turn of their friends names, the letter pages and the Pre Writing skills pages with circles, lines and curves as can be seen in the pics. As you can see, there was excellent concentration and the children were very interested in this planned experience, asking for the next page and sharing or swapping with others.
01.01.2022 The struggle is REAL! (The satisfaction of achievement is priceless!)
