21.01.2022 Visiting Aurora HQ Today, we were very pleased to have The Minister for Education and Early Childhood Learning, The Hon. Sarah Mitchell, MLC, visit Aurora’s coordinating office. Accompanying Minister Mitchell were: The Hon. Samuel Farraway, MLC; The Hon. Geoffrey Provest, MP; The Hon. Michael Johnsen, MP; The Hon. Wesley Fang, MLC; and The Hon. Benjamin Franklin, MLC. Our visitors had the opportunity to observe a Year 6 pilot opportunity class engaging in some programming in Micro:bit and a Year 10 science class learning about black holes. They also met with staff in Aurora’s 3D virtual playground and learned about the many programs on offer at our school. Chris Robertson | Principal

09.01.2022 Have you got gaps in your HSC plans? Aurora offers a wide variety of HSC subjects via online learning with face to face teachers for all rural and remote students in a public school. If you haven't been able to access a subject perhaps we have the answer for you! You can study with us online from your home school and complete your HSC how you would like to. We have students that study 1, 2, 3 or more subjects with us and personalise their pattern of study with their home school. 07.01.2022 Youth Leadership and Advocacy Aurora College is partnering with the Country Education Partnership (CEP) in the delivery of the renowned Rural Youth Ambassador Program. Developed by the CEP, the program provides young people in rural and remote communities with the opportunity to develop their leadership skills. Year 11 Aurora students, Ben Caughey, Harry Bottero, Neve Lawson, Maggie Zannon and Cordy Lloyd have joined 25 representatives from 15 other schools as inaugural NSW R...ural Youth Ambassadors, providing a voice on rural and remote education to government and education sectors. The Minister for Education, The Hon. Sarah Mitchell, MLC, launched the program in Armidale on 1 September with Cordy Lloyd, who did a great job of representing Aurora College and her home school, Guyra Central School.
