18.01.2022 This is an incredible first for the Pink Belt Project Please take the time to read. Grace's Pink Belt Scholarship Do you know a young woman aged 13 to 17 who could benefit from the empowerment of Taekwondo? ‘Grace’s Pink Belt Scholarship’ seeks to help a young woman who has a neurological disability or disease OR her family could not otherwise afford for her to participate in martial arts training. Grace contacted Pink Belt Project Founder Kristy Hitchens a few months back... to say she had decided to raise money for Pink Belt Project because Taekwondo has helped her so much in dealing with her own horrific neurological disease! She understands more than anyone, what Taekwondo and training in the traditional martial arts can add to your life. Grace has Autism and Functional Neurological Disorder which results in severe and ongoing seizures with associated memory loss and other neurological impacts. She and her mum Jo are currently in Sydney so that Grace can receive the best treatment currently available in Australia for her condition. As a result she has moved from her club in WA and is keeping up her training with in Sydney. Mum Jo says Grace benefits enormously not just physically but socially and emotionally through her training. With birthday money and the support of her Taekwondo community, friends and family, Grace has raised enough to cover a full scholarship worth $2,000. Awe inspiring. 18.01.2022 Hi guys We are getting closer to our mid year grading This grading will be slightly different as covid restrictions are still in place. Schedule for the next few weeks The 27th of July and the 3rd of August we will be working hard on basics and pattens hopefully the coota crew will be across to help and inspire all students... If I can organise it we will hold a 2 hour pre grading workshop on Sunday the 9th of August at the Junee MPC, time to be set but maybe around 1pm and then grading on the 10th of August. On Monday the 17th of August we will be starting our new program Basic Bo staff. This is not a compulsory element of our training but something I believe all students will enjoy as a part of the martial art journey. If you are keen to be involved in the Bo staff program you will need to get a Bo staff A broom handle or a piece of dowel about your height will be adequate to start with. More information over the next few weeks See you all at training Instructor John See more
