21.01.2022 Attention all biology teachers! In response to the COVID-19 pandemic AUSECO has been busily working behind the scenes to develop our first virtual excursion Ecosystem Dynamics Long Reef Rock Platform. We have facilitated science and geography excursions for the past 30 years and pride ourselves on offering quality learning experiences at some of the best natural sites across Sydney. Although we’ve never faced a challenge quite like this one, we’re determined to continue off...ering these quality learning experiences through a remote platform. What’s included: - Highly engaging and informative videos of activities that students would normally complete in the field - Raw data from the field (e.g. salinity, pH, temperature, quadrat counts and line transect - Direct curriculum linked work booklets to be completed by students and marked by teachers - Simple connection, one click on the link and you’re in! Watch a preview video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soBZIlYz2lk and get in touch to secure your virtual excursion. Please call us on (02) 9970 6456 or email [email protected] If you know any biology teachers looking for assistance with Module 4 please pass this information on. We can’t wait for the day when we are again out in nature and hope to see you at one of our beautiful locations soon! #stage6 #depthstudy #ecosystemdynamics #biology #remoteclasses #distanceeducation #virtualexcursion

06.01.2022 Who knows what this is? Found on excursion today at Long Reef, with Year 7 St Augustine's Share it if you know! Don't ruin the fun by commenting the answer. We will post the answer tomorrow!
04.01.2022 Who knows what this is? The other sea creatures never invite me to their fancy dinner parties, they say I ruin the mood. I don’t know why! Last dinner party I bought fresh sea lettuce and baby molluscs for everyone, after I digested the entrée I threw up all the waste material to make room for the main (I don’t have an anus). I can crawl along rocks and sediment using my foot and tiny body hairs, but when I really want to show off I will swim through the water! When I swim I feel like a graceful ballerina! Because I am so thin I don’t have gills to breathe and I can spilt myself into two every ~10 days! Don't ruin the fun by commenting the answer. We will post the answer tomorrow!
