19.01.2022 A Great Testimonial From Ed James All Equip Constructions Are you happy with the quality of work that Aus Eco Solutions provided for Allequip Constructions, after you created the wetlands? Ed: Yes, I was very pleased. We barely had to do anything after the construction of the wetlands. Everything was done very efficiently.... Would you employee Aus Eco Solutions for any landscaping or weed control work in the future? Ed: Yes for sure. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Aus Eco Solutions to other companies, and we would defiantly use you again in any other wetlands we plan to do. What were your thoughts on Aus Eco Solutions customer service, organisation and communication skills? Ed: It all worked out very well, because everything was organised, so we actually didn’t have to do much at all. We met them in the morning and they knew what they were doing, they just got into it and worked rain, hail or shine. So it was excellent. Thanks for the testimony Ed, it was great working with your team too!

19.01.2022 Aus Eco Solutions Providing Landscaping and Vegetation Management on Roadsides and Freeways for VicRoads and Local Councils Landscaping-and-Vegetation-Management Our team has undertaken various landscaping projects on freeways for VicRoads including the Gateway to Victoria Melbourne Airport Precinct on the Tullamarine Freeway. This project included the use of rocket cells which which have faster growth rates than traditional nursery pots, tubestock or cell trays. This project included ground preparation, weed control, tree planting and maintenance of the site. Our team also manages roadside vegetation across numerous municipalities. Roadsides often have remnant stands of original native vegetation and provide important wildlife corridors.

18.01.2022 We are working hard to ensure our native fauna and flora have a place to call home.

17.01.2022 It has been an informative week for Aus Eco team members with Dominica & Kerrie heading from NSW to Victoria for talks with many experts on reefs, coastal ecosystems, dingoes, endangered frogs & ecological burning. Then Kerrie & Kristian met more experts in Bellingen to chat about turtles, conservation sniffer dogs, dingoes, foxes & cane toads over the weekend. Our learning & sharing expertise never stops.

15.01.2022 Aus Eco Solutions | Preserving Our National Parks Aus Eco Solutions recently undertook some woody weed control within the Great Otway National Park. The woody weed control included cutting and painting Sweet Pittosporum (Pittosporum undulatum) within the Great Otway National Park.... Cutting and painting is an effective weed control tool in the management of woody weeds, as you are cutting the plant down as close to the ground as possible either using a chainsaw or loppers and within 15 to 20 seconds you are painting the stump with chemical in order for the weed to uptake the chemical. This type of weed control ensures, if completed correctly, that the plant will not grow back and will give the native flora around a chance to grow in the weeds place. Aus Eco Solutions had a great time completing this work at Cumberland River Track for Parks Victoria.

15.01.2022 We all know species diversity is important for healthy ecosystems. Now researchers have found... "Increasing plant diversity enhances the natural control of insect herbivory in grasslands. Species-rich plant communities support natural predators and simultaneously provide less valuable food for herbivores."

15.01.2022 Have a great weekend!

13.01.2022 Located in Doreen, Victoria, these Wetlands were constructed by Allequip constructions as part of a future project earth student research program. Over 20,800 plants were planted over 10 days at this site by the Aus Eco Solutions team and the students of PVCC. The aim of this project was to establish wetlands at PVCC to cleanse the runoff water from the site, as well as providing suitable habitat for native wildlife. Aus Eco Solutions constructed a list of native water based ...plants for the sites revegetation program. The plants were strategically planted in each of their own suitable habitat, this could be within the wetlands or 20-60 cm above the waterline. These very site specific plants were planted by the students of PVCC as part of their Project Earth elective class. The wetlands plants were all planted to give the most natural look to the site, the students and teachers of the school all got involved whilst completing this environmentally sustainable activity. Aus Eco Solutions recently went back down to PVCC to complete some plantings along the drainage systems in the wetlands. These drains carry the water to and from the wetlands, so it is essential to look after them properly. These plants were specifically planted in order to reduce erosion from the drains and to also reduce carrying sediment to and from the wetlands. Aus Eco Solutions encourages other schools to incorporate Project Earth into their learning systems and to make conservation and land management a fun learning experience for everyone.

06.01.2022 Aus Eco Solutions Protecting Our Lakes Working in the Geelong region, Aus Eco Solutions has been tasked to manage and maintain the Blue Waters Lake Reserve. The aim for this particular site is to encourage the growth of the native vegetation already there by spot spraying invasive grass broadleaf and escaped garden species out. Manual removal of woody weeds via cut and painting, as well as brushcutting along the paths and the cutting back of vegetation imposing on the foot pa...ths is also a priority for us here. We are very excited as there is a hillside that was previously planted out with the native grasses which was thought to be ridiculously overgrown and is doing better than first thought. With native grasses moving into the non designated conservation zones, we have started focussing our efforts there on more spot spraying around the areas that the natives inhabit as well as a big sweep through the conservation areas to promote the spread and survival of the native grasses. Invasive vegetation targeted but not limited to: Kikuyu (Pennisetum clandestinum) Phalaris Panic Veldt Grass (Pittosporum undulatum) Giant Hairy Willow Herb (Epilobium hirsutum) English Ivy (Epilobium hirsutum) Italian Buckthorn (Rhamnus alaternus) Hemlock (Conium maculatum) Sticky Weed (Galium aparine) Mirror Bush (Coprosma repens) Bristly Ox Tongue (Helminthotheca echioides) Various Thistles Garden Escapes
