25.01.2022 As we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration & Platform for Action #Beijing25 we must ensure that the gains made for women’s rights in recent years are not reversed by #COVID19. Australian candidate for the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), Natasha Stott Despoja AO, reminds us that we will need everyone’s full capabilities to chart our economic & social recovery. https://vimeo.com/showcase/7611062/video/461677205
24.01.2022 This #NAIDOCWeek2020, we celebrate the incredible richness and diversity of Australia's First Nations People. The AITSIS Map of Indigenous Australia is a great way to visually understand how many different and distinct groups make up Indigenous and Torres Strait Island Australia, each with their own culture, customs and law. #DYK that there are more than 250 Australian Indigenous languages... and 800 dialects? #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe https://aiatsis.gov.au/explore/map-indigenous-australia
22.01.2022 Our pleasure to witness the handover of essential medical and education equipment by Susan Mutami to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Rt. Maj. Gen. SB Moyo, on behalf of the Queensland Department of Health and members of the Queensland community. Some of the equipment is the first of its kind in Zimbabwe and will be used at Mnene Mission Hospital in Mberengwa to help in the fight against #COVID19. Susan is one of the 43,000 diaspora in and does both countries incredibly proud.
21.01.2022 Congratulations to Vincent Namitjira for winning ’s most prestigious portrait award, the Archibald Prize. Vincent’s winning portrait of Adam Goodes, ‘Stand strong for who you are’, makes him the first Indigenous winner in the prize’s 99 year history.

11.01.2022 During the #Covid19 lockdown in Zimbabwe, the Embassy has sought to support some of Zimbabwe’s most vulnerable communities. We partnered with EatOut Movement to provide food and assistance to more than 700 homeless and vulnerable people in Harare, Binga, Mutare and Bulawayo.

02.01.2022 Happy Hump Day! The Australian Embassy in Harare got together recently to film our #JerusalemaDanceChallenge - we hope you enjoy! #DYK that Australia has three national flags? You might be familiar with the Australian National Flag , but keep an eye out for the Australian Aboriginal Flag and the Torres Strait Islander Flag (and the Zimbabwean Flag of course!)
