25.01.2022 BIG news. HUGE. If you travel past our Boggo Road site you may have noticed our new tower crane, which is currently the strongest crane in the southern hemisphere! This mega machine started lifting last week, and will be moving enormous steel cantilever beams into place, weighing up to 100 tonnes each.

24.01.2022 ROMA STREET PEDESTRIAN ACCESS To enable the final stages of demolition of the Brisbane Transit Centre, temporary closures of the footpath on Roma Street will be required over the coming months. To minimise commuter disruption, the closures will be in off-peak periods and traffic controllers will be in place to assist. Please follow the signage and direction of traffic control to safely navigate the area.

From 21 September access to Platform 1 will be via a separate entrance 100 metres east (towards the city) of the existing station access. 22.01.2022 City Botanic Gardens Bunya Walk Investigation work will commence shortly in the City Botanic Gardens, drilling a borehole approximately 50 metres underground to confirm ground conditions for tunnelling. Construction vehicles and equipment will enter from Alice Street near Edward Street, and access the work area via Bunya Walk. This enormous space will be used to store the rock and spoil excavated by our tunnel boring machines, before it is transported and recycled at sites like Port of Brisbane and Larapinta. Over 90% of all spoil is recycled and once excavation of our tunnels is complete, the shed is taken down. Since excavation commenced, 29 metres of the access adits (smaller tunnels) that connect to the station cavern have been completed! Not only do we have the 22m tall acoustic spoil shed nearing completion at our Woolloongabba site, the team are also in the final stages of installing a giant 14m x 23m gantry crane, which will be lifting each piece of the tunnel boring machines and lowering them down the 27m to the base of the station box. Did you know, 25,000 individual concrete segments will be used to line our twin tunnels? ...
