25.01.2022 The Anzac concert is now available on podcast and online on my website. There is also a link to the donation page for the Blue Mountains Refugee Support Group. Please donate if you can. They need your help. This is a free concert for you all as a commemoration of a terrible event. This concert is played by me and my friend in music Philip Griffin. https://bluemountainsound.com.au/ausfolkus-podcast/

24.01.2022 Well here it is folks: The definitive story of Chloé and Jason Roweth Part 1. Drop in and have a listen about their early lives before music, where they had the...ir beginnings and where they melded into the pair of performing dynamos they are today. This is a great, lively and passion-laden discussion. This is also an inspiring story for musicians especially in the folk genre who are looking to make a living out of a tough and demanding profession. Either look for Ausfolkus on your podcaster or go here, scroll down and have a listen. If you share this post please tick the box that says 'include original text' or copy and paste this if on a mobile device that doesn't provide for this, otherwise the reader won't know the specifics of your share.

22.01.2022 I've accepted Philip Griffin's offer to join me on the Anzac podcast. Sent him the files today so I'm all atwitter about what's going to come back. Knowing Philip it will be a very class act :) The Anzac podcast which is a full Anzac concert from both sides of the conflict with music and narrative will be put up by the 23rd.

22.01.2022 I’ve been listening to the conversation with Chloe Roweth and Jason Roweth on the AusFolkus podcast. It’s a beauty. What I enjoy about this series of interviews... is the way Andy Busuttil elicits such fascinating snippets of his guests’ lives, experiences, highs and lows. What drew them to play music, teach dance, make and play instruments, immerse themselves in musical traditions from past eras or other cultures. The episodes are also a kind of cultural history of Australia as guests recount key events in their childhood, early adulthood etc, encompassing the huge cultural and social changes in Australia of the past decades. As such these podcasts form a fascinating oral history of an important segment of Australia’s cultural life. Can’t wait to hear who will be next on the interview sofa! See more

18.01.2022 Getting close to Anzac Day now and there is an anti war concert on AusFolkus podcasts now which tells a very personal tale about Gallipoli, from both sides of the conflict. Hope you have a chance to listen to it. If there is something you would like to say about the podcast, feel free to review it here.

17.01.2022 Over 400 downloads now for Ausfolkus podcasts. Very pleased to see so many people getting some pleasure out of hearing about the lives of some of our most loved... including Danny Spooner, Linsey Pollak, Gary Dawson, Chloé and Jason Roweth and the Anzac concert which is still receiving attention well after Anzac day. Soon to be added is a fabulous and fascinating life story of Noel Balfour who is, in my opinion, one of the absolute exemplars on how to live a life well and fully. At the age of 94 he is still writing and recording his music. Not only that, he is in great demand by a friend of his to restore his precious prestige cars. Noel does the panel work including chassis stretching when required. All at the age of 94!!!!!!! This man is a living legend. The interview with Noel will start tomorrow and will also feature the life of Lorna Barry, one of the Barry Sisters well known for their appearances on Bandstand in the 60's. The genre is not necessarily pure folk and for Noel I break with this tradition. Noel and Lorna's music can be described as a blend of country and folk but of the trad kind. Looking forward to this interview and one I highly recommend even if you are a dedicated dyed in the wool folkie. If you don't use a podcaster you can also access the podcasts here:

16.01.2022 The second and last episode in Noel Balfour's story is up on Ausfolkus Podcasts. This is an amazing tale of the history of music in Australia with many surprises in it to do with music, performance, recording and labels from the 1940's on. All the knowledge in this podcast is based on Noel's personal experience and that of his wife Lorna Barry. In it you'll hear stories of such greats as Jimmy Little, Billy Thorpe, Brian Henderson and Bandstand, Guy Mitchell, Bill Walker, Va...l Doonican (remember him?) and many others in the music industry both here and internationally. You will also be treated to a great song written by Noel and Lorna on their way back in a plane from Tamworth music festival. Be inspired by this story. Go and have a listen and be treated to a great song as a bonus recorded by Noel, Hayden Chee and Chris Saxton just a year or so ago. To get to it, find Ausfolkus Podcasts on your favourite podcaster or go to my website, scroll down and have fun:
