25.01.2022 Walla Parents, We are hoping for a fine sunny day on Sunday for some Rugby in Wello. Please remember to abide by the Covid-19 regulations put in place for the G...ala Day. We are still able to run a canteen and are asking for assistance to help in the canteen during the day, setting and packing up. We are hoping to have homemade treats available at the canteen for purchase. If you are available to cook something to sell at the canteen, the club would be so grateful, as our canteen makes money to keep registration costs low! Ideas for homemade treats include; choc brownies, biscuits, muffins, caramel slice or rocky road. We are asking that all treats be securely wrapped and presented in a clear ziplock or cellophane bag. Please indicate via comment below if you are able to cook something for Sunday. Dont forget we are also hosting another day on Sunday 30th August. So further donations will be required then. Thankyou in advance for your support for our great rugby club!

25.01.2022 To all our supporters and ticket holders we would like to first of all thank everyone for your cooperation and support as weve navigated these uncertain times ...together. As you all know our move to initially postpone the Trundle ABBA Festival was something we did not take lightly. Advice from health authorities as well as the valued input from the local Trundle community has always been of paramount of importance to us. After a public meeting with the Trundle community this week where they expressed their concerns about the festival going ahead and after measured consideration of the implications of the pandemic, we have made the hard decision to cancel this years event. We understand this decision strikes a second blow for everyone, especially our loyal revellers. It is incredibly sad for us here at Executive Event Solutions as we have proudly taken the helm as festival organiser for the last two years. We have loved working with all of you and we managed to put on a world class event that not only showcased the music of ABBA but embraced and embodied the spirit of an Australian rural community & culture. It may be our last Trundle Abba Festival but certainly not our last amazing music event as Abba fans and as experts in successful large scale events. All Festival tickets will be automatically refunded through our ticketing partner 123 Tix. Please note this process may take up to 14 days. We thank them for their continued professionalism and support. Tickets purchased for the ABBA Train; Lachlan Valley Railway will be in contact with you shortly. Tickets purchased for Glamping and Camping; The Trundle Showground Trust will be in contact with you shortly. We really look forward to enjoying a large party in the future and hope to see you all there.

21.01.2022 We are deeply saddened to let you know that for the first time in our 15-year history, Old Bar Beach Festival will not be going ahead this October long weekend.... This has been a tough decision for us to make, but with everything considered, we know that its the right call. *** A lot has happened since last years Festival. We have seen harrowing bushfires, severe drought and are now living amidst a global health crisis. These truly are unprecedented times. Though the easing restrictions in NSW and around the country are welcome news for all, there remains a significant amount of uncertainty surrounding the future of large public gatherings and festivals like ours. The simple fact is that we do not know, and cannot predict, what restrictions will be in place at the time of our event. The government does not yet have a roadmap for reintroducing gatherings of more than 100 people, and health experts are warning it will be a long time before festivals can safely return. The health and safety of our patrons and participants is of the utmost importance to us. We feel strongly that it would be irresponsible to go ahead with the Festival before clear health and safety guidelines are developed for large events in a post-COVID-19 world. Proceeding with planning our event in the current situation is risky at best. At worst, it could spell financial devastation for us and threaten the Festivals future. We know that youll agree it would be better to reimagine our festival this year, than imagine a world without it. We are currently working on some innovative ways that we can still deliver our trademark festival spirit this year. So, stay tuned for more on virtual festivities in the coming weeks. If you have any suggestions for us, please get in touch via our website form. All our love, Old Bar Beach Festival Team x

14.01.2022 LOUTH RACES ARE CANCELLED AND SO IS THE PARTY Weve heard that there are a few who are still thinking of coming to Louth on race weekend, even though the races ...arent going ahead. PLEASE re-consider this non essential travel as NSW tries its best to keep COVID under wraps. We want to ensure our community stays safe. There will be NO BEERS at the PUB. There will be NO PARTY to commiserate. There will be NO OTHER ACTIVITIES in the village, and certainly NOT a phantom race call. PLEASE STAY AT HOME and make plans for a big 2021 race meeting! #louthraces Shindys Inn Louth Central West Police District Central North Police District

12.01.2022 Sorry, no coffee today. Were getting some chooks

11.01.2022 I was asked privately today why I’ve posted so much non-grief stuff lately when this blog started out with a primary focus on child loss. It wasn’t a question t...hat was intended with malice, the person who approached me did it from a place of kindness and curiosity and their observation was valid. I answered, but then it got me thinking that it’s such an important point that I wanted to answer it publicly. So when I first started writing, I did so for therapeutic reasons. I enjoy it. I feel like I’m ok at it and I’m far more effective at putting my thoughts out in this medium. On top of that, as a male who lost a kid, I realised how little there was from a dads perspective. Given I sucked so bad at handling my loss I wanted to connect with others who were travelling this journey and support them while taking learnings from others further along than me. What I quickly discovered through my search however, is that many of the social media based support groups which exist can quickly be compartmentalised into one of two boxes: Box 1 is the most common and probably the healthiest of the two. While well intentioned, these spaces tend to take on loss and grief as an identity. The content is bleak, and you’ll find several people happy to tell you that your world is now ruined. The more toxic versions of these spaces focus so much on the negative that it attracts individuals who have not handled their loss in a healthy manner. Loss becomes your sole identity and the group sets a standard of posting only if you’re feeling negative - Not healthy. Box 2 is worse though. This is the more masculine driven approach I encountered. So you lost a child. So what? It’s time to get over it. Move on. Be strong. It’s a challenge life threw at you. You can always have other kids. You’re a man. Be a man. This approach pretty much sucks. The only element worth taking in is a measured version of stoicism. Outside of that I knew this wasn’t for me. I didn’t want either of these to be my jam and so I started blogging. And to say I was amazed at just how many of us are affected by miscarriages, stillbirth, IVF trauma and just plain old loss in some form or another would be an understatement and a half. Everyone has a burden. Part of that burden though is realising you still have an identity underneath. You can experience child loss and still be frustrated at the behaviour of your other kids. You can still have times where you find laughter, joy, humour and all the things that came with being a parent before you suffered loss. You don’t have to feel guilty for any of these emotions. You are completely normal. And so here we are. This space as it is today. No I don’t dwell on grief all the time and I do this on purpose. I do it because I want you to understand that your life is NOT OVER because you’ve lost a child. Your world has changed, you’re going to have shit times and you definitely will experience some negative after effects long after the loss you endured. But you’re human. You’re an individual. You deserve happiness and you deserve to see examples of other people living their lives in the face of a catastrophic experience. Your loss never leaves you. It’s sewn into the fabric of who you are from the moment it happens to eternity. I don’t want you to forget it and I’m not saying every once in a while you’re not going to have a complete meltdown. But seeing me constantly bombard you with only posts about sadness is not healthy and is not an accurate reflection of who I am as a person. So yes, this is a blog about child loss. It may have grown and evolved a little over time but at its core, it’s about showing you that there is a path through this. If you’ve just lost a child and been referred here then I’m absolutely still here for you. Just because I’m blogging about how my kids take a shitload of time getting ready for bed, doesn’t mean I can’t immediately place myself back in your shoes to what it felt like on day one. This is part of the journey. You got this -D-1

07.01.2022 The Battle on the Bidgee Committee regret to announce that the 2020 event is cancelled due to COVID-19. 03.01.2022 Sadly, the 2020 Sunny Corner Trailbike Ride has been cancelled, with the on going Covid-19 saga, Goverment Restrictions and Forestry not even look at issuing ev...ent permits until late July or early August, we have had to make the sad decision and cancel Sunny Corner for 2020. This short timeframe to organise our event just doesnt leave us enough time. Plus, the Governments social distancing restrictions will mean that both sign-on and presentation will be a struggle to stage. So, the Sunny Corner Trailbike Ride will have a much-deserved year off, and come back in 2021 when the world has settled down. The Sunny Corner team didnt want this outcome. We wanted to use our event to put some normality back into peoples lives, but its simply out of our control at this stage. Many thanks again to all our sponsors, who we hope can still be part of the event in 2021. Dates for 2021 Sunny Corner are put down for 11 and 12 September. So pencil in 2021 and we look forward to seeing all our sponsors and riders in 2021!
