25.01.2022 Over 1000 schools have logged on to the Literacy Hub to check out the range of resources for helping children to read by using phonics. The online Phonics Check for Year 1 students helps teachers to identify how well children can ‘decode' written words, by listening to how the child sounds out the letter by letter groups and blends these sounds together to make a word. The Literacy Hub website contains resources to help you understand how your child is progressing with their reading skills, and to help them build word recognition. 12.01.2022 For Round 2 of the Destination Australia program, 17 education providers were successful in receiving funding to administer 257 scholarships across 33 regional campuses. The scholarships are worth up to $15,000 and are awarded to students studying higher education or vocational education and training. The Destination Australia program helps students to complete their study in regional or rural communities, boosting their workforce and supporting economic recovery. 08.01.2022 Minister for Education, Dan Tehan MP turned the first sod on the construction of a hydrogen research facility this week at @DeakinUniversity. The new Hydrogen Training Testbed at the Hycel Technology Hub will investigate hydrogen compatibility in the reticulated gas network, one of the first steps in enabling the transition of Deakin’s Warrnambool campus to 100 per cent Hydrogen.
