09.01.2022 ***CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS*** In recognition of the Indian Ocean Territories (IOT) of Christmas Island (CI) and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands (CKI) being remote communities, and their vulnerability to coronavirus, IOT Administrator Mrs Natasha Griggs has declared a state of emergency in both Territories. Effective from today, 18 March 2020, a travel ban is in place in relation to passenger arrivals to CI and CKI. Only residents and essential staff will be abl...e to travel to CI and CKI until further notice, and anyone returning to CI or CKI will need to self-isolate for 14 days once on CI or CKI. At this stage there are no time frames on the above restrictions. We will however keep you up to date with developments in the coming days and weeks. If you need assistance with your travel plans/bookings please contact the teams at the Christmas Island Visitor Centre, Cocos Keeling Islands Visitor Centre or your travel agent. We hope to welcome you to Australia's Indian Ocean Islands in the not too distant future...
