25.01.2022 Introducing our 2021 International Chapter Architecture Awards jury member, Hank Koning, FAIA, LFRAIA, LEED AP. Hank is a Founding Principal of Koning Eizenberg Architecture, established 1981, in Santa Monica, California, USA. His strength with construction technology, planning and code translate to unexpected opportunities at all scales of project development that propel signature solutions. A member of the U.S. Green Building Council, Hank continues to lead the effort in in...tegrated sustainable design. His community involvement and planning expertise include 7 years of service on the Santa Monica Planning Commission. Under his leadership, Koning Eizenberg has earned over 160 design and sustainability awards and been widely published. With great passion, Sheila Conejos continues to promote the concept of "adapt+maintain+sustain+circulate" the built environment for a sustainable and resilient future. She is a multidisciplinary professional and academic with 25 years of experience as architect, urban planner and sustainable development specialist in Asia-Pacific. Sheila has a PhD in Sustainable D...evelopment and Architecture (Bond University, Australia) and was awarded the CIOB Australasia Research Excellence Award for Doctoral Research. Sheila is an active researcher and author of a number of international referred journals on urban and building sustainability. Vui Chong jury chair Hank Koning FAIA, LFRAIA, LEED AP Dr Shelia Maria Arcuino Conejos RAIA Nic Brunsdon RAIA Wei Yap Ooi RAIA Vui Choong is a Registered Architect (NSW) and urban designer with 15 years’ experience within the residential, commercial, transport, retail and infrastructure sectors. Vui has worked across China, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand in varying roles. Most recently, he was the Studio Leader of Thomson Adsett's Hong Kong Studio, Design Director of BLVD Architecture and formerly, a Senior Architect at Hassell in Hong Kong. Major projects Vui has delivered during his career include the Shuiwan Zone C co-living apartments and Qianhai Metro stations in Shenzhen. He has a strong interest in design and is passionate about evaluating and evolving design ideas through drawing, virtual modelling and research. 01.01.2022 Introducing our 2021 International Chapter Architecture Awards jury member, Wei Yap Ooi RAIA. Wei is a Principal at HAYBALL with a keen interest in design-led research which brings value to the client. He is affiliated with procuring complex projects and has delivered award-winning projects across the public and private sectors in Australia and Southeast Asia. Wei has a demonstrated understanding of the socio-political and economic conditions of built form and their relations...hip to Australia and Southeast Asia's geopolitical economy. His design partnerships with KCAP, ARUP and the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore for the JLD Masterplan project have fuelled his interest in city-level governance. This area of interest has led him to develop a DFAT proposal with R.M.I.T. in cooperation with OVGA to bring a design research and symposium to Melbourne. Wei is also invested in architectural education and has taught at the University of Melbourne, Deakin University, R.M.I.T., the University of Singapore and the University of Newcastle.

Nic is the director of the design practice NIC BRUNSDON which operates locally and internationally from Perth, Western Australia. In 2015 he was the sole winner of the Australian Institute of Architects Emerging Architect Award, firstly for Western Australia and then nationally. He is a past nominee for the 40 under 40 young business leaders award, a nominated thought leader for the... City of Perth, the 2015 recipient of the Dulux International Study Tour for Emerging Architects, the 2017/18 recipient of the Gil Nicol Biennial International Study Bursary, a founding Board Member of Activate Perth, and has recently received recognition at the World Architecture Festival, Dezeen, Houses, and Australian Institute of Architects Awards programs. #architecture #architectureawards
