09.01.2022 AKBC is pleased to announce Kate Vidgen as a speaker at the upcoming AKBC-KABC Joint Meeting on Wednesday 13 November in Sydney, following the keynote speech by... Dr Alan Finkel. Kate will speak in Session One: The Future of Energy. Some of the key points Kate will touch on are as follows: -Hydrogen is a uniquely flexible renewable energy medium which has the capacity to reduce emissions across a range of sectors. Given the falling costs of renewables, green hydrogen is at a tipping point. Australia & Korea have an opportunity to show leadership in its development. - Capital is not the constraint. Currently, substantial unallocated capital globally is seeking to invest in high quality infrastructure assets, particularly those with a sustainability focus. Industry & governments can now work collaboratively to remove hurdles and create platforms for investment. - We can learn a number of lessons from the LNG industry. The most important of these is to avoid infrastructure duplication & the value of long-term partnerships between the supply & the demand side of a commodity. -The uniquely scalable nature of hydrogen gives us the capacity to invest in hubs in the short to medium term to support applications which are economic & require minimal regulatory change. Over time, these hubs can be scaled up as costs fall & demand increases with the ultimate aim of a large-scale export capability. #akbc2019 #korea #hydrogen #energy
