19.01.2022 It's difficult to recognise that someone is a hypocrite. They are usually impressive. They look genuine. They speak convincingly. Its easy to fall in their trap. However, the danger they pose is so great that God warns us about them in so many chapters. He warns us against them and against being like them. Why? Because they are one of us. They can access us in our vulnerability. They are able deceive us when our guard is down. Remember though that hypocrites are not... interested in the truth. They use the truth to further their own agenda. They act defensively, and feel offended as if they are under constant attack. They are ready to sell values in exchange for worldly things such as power and fame. They have no problem swearing by God's name over lies, or twist the truth for their own benefit. They create destruction all around and seek to break up the unity. They are two faced, they pretend to be your friend but have no problem skinning you alive with their words behined your back. The chapter of The Hypocrites (63) is a reminder to identify the hypocricy disease in our own hearts and fix it; and to be on guard for hypocrites planning to break our unity.
