The changes will facilitate access to a wider range of digital modes for foundation licensees, and provide a âcall sign for lifeâ for all licensees by:  allowing all amateurs to obtain a three-letter call sign  removing the association between call sign suffixes and qualifications.

02.01.2022 LATEST WIA NEWS Excessive Processing delays for new callsigns and exam results. https://www.wia.org.au/newseven//2020/20201110-1/index.php The WIA has been contacted by many radio amateurs, aspirant radio amateurs and assessors very concerned over current excessive delays being consistently experienced for âdeedâ processing services. That is new callsign allocations and exam processing.... Recurring delays close to 90 days (or higher) have been consistently reported to the WIA. These members have also expressed frustration with the lack of transparency in terms of getting âtime-to-completeâ or âprocessing milestone statusâ updates. The complainants have also asked what options are available to them in respect to i) resolving their specific issue; and ii) rectifying an obviously broken process.
