20.01.2022 Wanted: Cotton grower from Gwydir Valley CGA to nominate Paint the Town REaD for $5,000 grant to improve children's literacy in Moree. State: NSW Cotton Growing Area: Gwydir Valley... Organisation name: Paint The Town REaD Ltd About the organisation/project: Paint The Town REaD is a national organisation, established in 1996, which aims to reduce the number of children that begin school without the necessary literacy skills. Paint The Town REaD partners with local agencies that each organise programs of activities designed to promote and address this issue. Data shows that over 33% of children in Moree arrive at school not ready to learn. Paint Moree REaD is a coalition of workers and community members working toward increased literacy by encouraging everyone in Moree to read with children from birth. Paint Moree REaD wish to help address this problem by using grant funds to provide resources for Moree’s first Annual Reading Day, which will engage the whole community in reading with children under school age in a popular, public location. And further, to buy materials to be used by Aboriginal workers to mentor young Aboriginal fathers to build book cases for young children. 19.01.2022 Wanted: Cotton grower from Macquarie CGA to nominate Gilgandra Evening CWA branch for a floor safety upgrade. State: NSW Cotton Growing Area: Macquarie... Organisation name: Gilgandra Evening CWA Branch About the organisation/project: The Gilgandra Evening CWA Branch is one of 300 active CWA branches across NSW. The CWA work to support local issues, with a focus on local women and their families. The floor of the CWA building has become dangerous, with vinyl tiles lifting and creating trip hazards. The CWA will use the grant to put down new flooring, ensuring the venue is safer for the range of groups who use the facility on a weekly basis and for larger events such as conferences and forums. It would create a more inclusive environment, so that users with impaired mobility can access the venue with confidence. 15.01.2022 Wanted: Cotton Grower from Upper Namoi to nominate Gunnedah Family Day Care for 5K Grant. State:NSW Cotton Growing Area: Upper Namoi... Organisation name: Gunnedah Family Day Care About the organisation/project: Gunnedah Family Day Care Centre is a community based not for profit organisation established 30 years ago to provide home-based childcare. They are situated at the Sugar Gums Family & Children’s Centre which is also used by three playgroups, a childcare centre and early intervention services. The Centre would like to upgrade the soft fall in the playground that was installed around 20 years ago and is becoming a safety hazard. They would like to replace it with a natural product which will create a more organic playspace with natural paths, boulders and logs to meet safety standards. This would reflect best practice and provide an environment which can develop motor skills and encourage children using the multiple services at the centre to be more engaged with the natural environment in which they live. 14.01.2022 Wanted: Cotton Farmer to support community suggestion from Upper Namoi CGA. State:NSW Cotton Growing Area: Upper Namoi... Organisation name: Gunidah Gunyah Aboriginal Corporation About the organisation/project: Gunidah Gunyah was established by local Aboriginal leaders who wanted to set up an organisation for Aboriginal people living in and around Gunnedah, NSW. Gunida Gunyah owns social housing properties in Gunnedah and manages over 300 Aboriginal social housing properties across 15 regional (including remote) locations in NSW. They are partnering with the Inverell Bear Eaters Elders Group. The Elders Group are made up of 27 Elders from the Inverell Region and have recently won gold at the Aboriginal Elders Olympic Games; and therefore, will host the 2018 event in Inverell. TheElders Olympics will be held in inland NSW for the first time and will be a community event which celebrates culture, community spirit and cohesion and promotes health and wellbeing of participants and spectators. A $5,000 grant will support the purchase of water, fresh fruit, morning tea and lunch for all attendees. Further, protective clothing, first aid kits and marquees for shade will be provided for the safety of volunteers at the event. 13.01.2022 Wanted: Cotton grower from Southern Valleys CGA to nominate the Yanco Country Women's Association for $5,000 grant. State: NSW Cotton Growing Area: Southern Valleys... Organisation name: Yanco Country Women’s Association About the organisation/project: The Yanco Country Women’s Association (CWA) is an active branch of the largest women’s organisation in the country. They were established in 1936 and work to improve the conditions for country women in the Yanco region and their families. The CWA would like to update their building in Yanco. It is currently very run down: the front of the main building needs painting, and the toilet block is very unstable, doesn’t have any lighting and is riddled with white ants. Members currently walk to the ex-serviceman’s club when they need to access toilet facilities. The CWA would use the funds to support painting the façade of the hall and renovating the toilets. This would improve the usability of the hall, improve the streetscape of Yanco and extend the life of the building. The CWA would be better supported to provide ongoing assistance to the community, especially through fundraising for the Yanco school. 11.01.2022 Wanted: Cotton Grower from Southern Valleys to nominate Hanwood Public School P&C for 5K Grant. State: NSW Cotton Growing Area: Southern Valleys... Organisation name: Hanwood Public School P&C About the organisation/project: Hanwood Public School was established in 1913 and is Griffith's oldest school. It has as a strong sense of history and civic pride and enjoys active community support. The school has enrollments of 267 students and a focus on delivering outstanding literacy and numeracy programs. They provide proactive student welfare support and student leadership opportunities and give many extra curriculum opportunities to display talents. The P&C provide much-needed fundraising support for educational resources and activities. The school has a range of priorities, but they would particularly like to develop more inclusive and accessible learning spaces by purchasing two smart boards and some furniture, to be placed in classrooms. The project will enable them to further cater for the specific learning requirements of students and promote interactive teaching methods to further enhance student educational outcomes. The planting window opened today for growers in Central Queensland, with Neek Morawitz and Clay Rigne...y well on their way to planting 650 hectares at 'Argoon', Comet. 08.01.2022 Applications are still open for the Aussie Cotton Farmers Grow Communities grants program - offering cotton farmers in New South Wales and Queensland the chan...ce to nominate a local not-for-profit organisation to receive one of thirty $5,000 grants. We are proud to partner with FRRR to deliver this program for the fourth consecutive year. The feedback we receive is that these grants allow local communities to build, create and fund the projects that mean the most to them and will have long-lasting impact in their area. - Carissa Buckland, Monsanto Fund Monsanto Company

05.01.2022 Wanted: Cotton grower to nominate from Macquarie CGA to nominate Narromine Squash Club for $5,000 grant. State: NSW Cotton Growing Area: Macquarie... Organisation name: Narromine Squash Club About the organisation/project: Narromine Squash Club is a sporting club with members young and old from the Narromine area. The clubrooms are an important asset for the community, and as such are used by the Narromine High School, community members for private functions and meetings, and club members. The rooms are accessible 24 hours a day and provide comfortable relief from variable weather conditions. The Squash Club needs to replace the clubroom air conditioners. By installing new units, the facility can continue to be used by the community - especially in the summer when temperatures often exceed 40 degrees. 02.01.2022 Wanted: Cotton Farmer to support community suggestion from Macquarie Valley CGA. State: NSW Cotton Growing Area: Macquarie Valley... Organisation name: St Mary's Parents & Friends Association About the organisation/project: St Mary’s Parents and Friends have fundraised to provide amenities, teaching aids and equipment for the 125 students at St Mary’s Primary School in Warren. Over many years, they have raised significant funds for a wide range of school resources, including the most recent purchase of play equipment. This play equipment is the first ever playground for the school and has been needed for a long time. The Association would now like to add a shade structure to the playground, in order to protect children from overexposure to the sun and reduce their risk of skin cancer later in life. They have undertaken cake stalls, trivia nights and various other fundraisers and have managed to raise $15,000. However, they still need $5,000 to complete the project. A $5,000 grant will support the costs associated with purchasing and installing the shade structure at the school. Organisation name: Bellata Golf Club About the organisation/project: The Bellata Golf Club is the hub of the Bellata community. The Club has a large hall which is used for regular functions from all sectors of the local and wider community, such as birthday/Christmas parties, school and preschool fundraisers, and local grower groups meetings. The kitchen/BBQ area at the hall needs improvements to enable it to continue to cater for the community’s needs. The grant would be used to assist the club repair and upgrade these facilities.
