20.01.2022 Sharing a joke to help keep us smiling. A student, wanting to earn some extra money during the uni holidays, decided to hire himself out to do odd jobs and started canvassing a nearby well-to-do neighbourhood. He went to the front door of the first house, and asked the owner if he had any odd jobs for him to do. ‘Well, I guess I could use somebody to paint my porch,’ he said. ‘How much will you charge me?’ Delighted, the student quickly responded, ‘How about $50?’ ... The man agreed and told him that the paint, paint brushes and everything he would need were in the garage. The man’s wife, hearing the conversation said to her husband, ‘Does he realize that our porch goes all the way around the house?’ He responded, ‘He should have thought about how big the job was before he quoted $50.’ Later that day, the student came to the door to collect the money. ‘You’re finished already?’ the startled man asked. ‘Yes,’ the student replied, ‘and I even had enough paint left over to give it a second coat.’ Impressed, the man reached into his wallet and gave her the $50 and an extra $10 as a tip. ‘And by the way,’ the student added, ‘it’s not a Porche, it’s an Audi.’
